Travel Digest #1442

Introduction

Hello everyone! This is @ybanezkim26 and I'll be presenting today's edition of #TravelDigest. I'm finally back to curation after more than a week of taking a break due to internet connection problems. We still don't have internet at home after the onslaught of Super Typhoon Odette, but I found an internet cafe nearby where I can curate. I missed this! Thank you so much to the pinmapple team for covering for me in my absence. I was gone for a while and I was welcomed by 75 posts in the past 24 hours! Competition is really tough now! Anyway, in our featured posts, we have the capital of Belgium, a mountain in Iceland, and some temples in Japan. Enjoy!

All featured posts are visible on the Editors Choice Map and upvoted by @pinmapple, @blocktrades, @theycallmedan and the curation trail. For more travel digests check out #traveldigest.

Our winners today 🍍

🥇 Brussels Belgium by @leaky20

Brussels is the capital of Belgium and the administrative capital of the European Union. It's official languages are French and Dutch but most people also speak English there, which I've found to be quite common in most Belgian cities.

🥈 Visiting Iceland - Saxhóll, Kirkjufell and Game of Thrones by @aurzeq

Then we climbed almost to the top of it (of course there was no one there, since there was a lot of ice). But as you will discover through these posts that I will write about our journey in Iceland, we were very adventurous and also reckless, since we visited a lot of places that were closed for the really bad weather conditions, and so most of the time we were alone (which was really fascinating, but also illegal 😅).

🥉 Nishi Honganji and Higashi Honganji - Two temples in Kyoto 👹🍣🎎 Fascinating Japan by @maxinpower

Both temples are located right in the city center and near the main train station. Directly in front of the Nishi Honganji there is a wide and busy main road, and we were very glad to glad to have the chance to escape from the stress and noise of the big city.

It's always a breeze when I see your posts. I tried not to be biased, but I'm a sucker of European architecture so...

Yeah it's hard not to like European architecture, especially if you didn't grow up in Europe (like me) and it's all still very novel.
