Travel Digest #1319
Introduction
Hi everyone @LivingUKTaiwan here with the weekend edition of the #TravelDigest. Today we're going to stay in Europe for our Top 3 post. First, we visit a salt mine in Romania, then we head to its neighbour Serbia to see a lake with a sad story, and finally we go back to Romania again to see some of the amazing landscape the country has to offer. Enjoy!
All featured posts are visible on the Editors Choice Map and upvoted by @pinmapple, @blocktrades, @theycallmedan and the curation trail. For more travel digests check out #traveldigest.

🥇 More Expensive Than Gold by @lightcaptured
"I have to admit here, this is really the top breathtaking tourist destination I have visited so far in Romania. It is strange to me that it isn't very popular among the many other European travelers I have spoken to. Even some Romanians don't know it and this is a complete surprise to me. As you are going to see from my photos below, this place really looks if not extraterrestrial, at least extraordinary!"

🥈 Lake Bileća and its depths - What does the largest artificial lake in the Balkans hide? by @ladysnowhite
"Namely, the river Trebišnjica is the largest sinking river in Europe and one of the largest in the world. Its surface flow is 98 meters long, but its underground flow is almost as long. The construction of Lake Bileća flooded the source of the river Trebišnjica, but also the villages of Panik, Orah, Čepelica, Zadublje, Miruše,and the Roman settlement of Leusinium."

🥉 Let's travel together #201 - Calcarele de la Ampoița (The limestones from Ampoita) by @gabrielatravels
"It's true that I found out about this place from a friend who visited them with a few months before my arrival and who is also a man of the place and probably he didn't need the GPS as much as we did, but after a whole day on the road, visiting more sightseeing attractions, my phone battery was running low and so we had to be on our own and begin the game of finding the beautiful stones.""

Oh wow, two posts in the top 3 from Romania? It's the first time when that happens, right?
Now I really feel honoured for living here. In plus, I visited that salt mine around 7 years ago! ❤️
Romania is really making the headlines aren't you guys!! Top 2 in the Travel Digest and (half) a world tennis champion!
But honestly, that salt mine is amazing!
Hehe, happy to find someone else who watch tennis! And yeah, the salt mine is gorgeous. So are many other places from here. Too bad they are not enjoying the same audience and popularity the salt mine does! 😔
Thanks for the mention!
Great articles in the top 3 today.
Great articles all round I'd say, so difficult to choice all the time
