Happy Valentine's Day!

My day was filled with so much love and joy as I shared beautiful and priceless moments with my students at my workplace. They were the sweetest and I had big smiles.

This month has been a season of love, but even if every day is not Valentine's Day, I am always grateful for the love, care, and respect that my students are showing to me every single day.

Honestly, I never thought that my students had prepared something for me earlier. They have been busy with their performance tasks and I have been busy with a variety of work too. I even almost forgot that it is Valentine's Day for being so busy.

Little did I know that they were planning to surprise me. They told me that they were hiding from me so I would have no idea about the surprise they had prepared for me.

Upon entering the classroom after lunchtime, one of my students said, “Ma’am nasurprise ka? Grabe namong tago tago sa cake and pa surprise nga dili nimu makita”. It was as good as saying that they were truly hiding everything from me so I would be surprised.

And they were so delighted when I said, “Yes, of course”. I then told them that I did not expect that they would give an appreciation.

I was so grateful to them not only for today but for the love and care that they showed me every day. Their thoughtfulness had been the best gift I have ever had. And I am so lucky to have good students like them.

I went home with a smile in my heart as I brought the gifts that my students had given me earlier. Happy Valentine's Day!
