PHOTOGRAPHY | The Cyathus striatus

Hello all friends in the community, I hope everyone is healthy and happy... This post is my contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw...

This is a mushroom that I have seen for the first time. This group of fungi grows around where I work, in slightly moist soil. I found this fungus when I was cleaning the weeds that grew around the hut posts.

Physically, I found these mushrooms in two different states, namely those that were still in bud and those that had already bloomed. Both have a dominant outer color of brown. The shape of the mushroom that is still a bud appears to be filled with coarse hairs and is oval in shape. While those that have bloomed, also have rough fur on the outside and are white with wrinkles on the inside filled with flat-shaped grains.

From the existing literature, this type of fungus is called fluted bird's nest fungus. The distribution can be found in all temperate regions. In Latin, this fungus is named Cyathus striatus from the family Nidulariaceae Source.

Here are some pictures that I share with the community, hopefully it will be useful...

Thank you for your support...

Best regard,
