Orchids of Costa Rica. The most beautiful flowers in the world.
In Costa Rica you can find 1,400 species of orchids of all shapes, sizes and colors. Of this number, 20% represent endemic orchids, this means that they are only found in Costa Rica.
One of the most important is the Guaria Morada (Guarianthe skinneri) that can be seen in the first image of this publication, and which was declared the national flower of the country and was very appreciated to decorate the gardens at the entrances of the houses since colonial times.
One place to appreciate them in more detail is the Lankester Botanical Garden of the University of Costa Rica, which is dedicated to the research and conservation of these beautiful plants.

En Costa Rica se pueden encontrar una 1400 especies orquídeas de todas las formas, tamaños y colores. De este numero, el 20% representan orquídeas endémicas, esto quiere decir que solo se encuentran en Costa Rica.
Una de las más importantes es la Guaria Morada (Guarianthe skinneri) que se puede observar en la primera imagen de esta publicación, y la cual fue declarada como la flor nacional del país y era muy apreciada para decorar los jardines en entradas del as casas desde los tiempos de la colonia.
Un lugar para poder apreciarlas con más detalle es el jardín Botánico Lankester de la Universidad de Costa Rica, el cual se dedica a la investigación y conservación de estas hermosas plantas.

Orchids are so amazing but I haven't have one on my garden.
They are beautiful, hopefully one day you will have the opportunity to have one, it is a wonderful experience to see them bloom.
