Video Wednesday: Sao Miguel Island from Pico de Mafra

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

When on travels, I always try to capture what I get to see with my photos but sometimes, I take videos too. Definitely not as often as I snap shots - I probably have dozens of thousands of photos vs. just a few dozens of videos - but I still think some of them deserve to be published here on my blog too. As you might remember from some of my older video posts though, I always had some issues with the video platforms here on the chain. Originally, I used to use D-Live (that must have been back in the old days of Steem) but this project left the chain and all the videos uploaded to the platform were defunct. Then, I tried to use D-Tube for several of my video posts but for some reason, this platform never really worked me... Usually, I couldn´t upload the video to D-Tube at all and when I somehow did, it was not working anyway... Frustrated by those futile attempts, I created a Youtube account and to my surprise, uploading to Youtube proved to be very fast and easy and the videos work just fine. With that being said, it seems that I finally have a place where I can share videos with you so I decided to come up with this special series called Video Wednesday. I don´t know if I can run this series every week, probably not because I don´t really have that many interesting videos and I am not planning to start recording like crazy from now on just because of this series, but maybe every other Wednesday or so, I should be able to come up with a new episode.

So this is the very first episode of the series and we will start out easy as I am going to kick off with a short video featuring some beautiful panoramic views of the Sao Miguel Island as seen and captured from the top of Pico de Mafra, a little hill located in the northeastern part of the island.

I hope you enjoyed the video and I would also appreciate any feedback on this new series of mine. Videos really haven´t been my thing so any tips, suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated indeed. Thanks :)

First of, I'm new on your blog and I have to go back in time to see some of your old videos, But I must say I'm a big fan of memories,I love to see beautiful things and yes! Sao Miguel Island looks beautiful, It's a bit short but it's really a nice view.

Ride on with the series Sir!
And yes try considering uploading on @threespeak. Since it's on the Hive Blockchain🤗

Hey buddy, thanks for your feedback :) Yes, I might actually do some flashback series as well. Naturally, I started to post my coolest stuff when I joined this chain some 4 years ago but back then, I had just a tiny fraction of my current follower base so in fact, a vast majority of my current friends and followers here on Hive didn´t have a chance to see my best posts :D :/

Thanks for the 3speak suggestion, I might give them a shot :)

Hey have you tried @threespeak?? It's a good way to upload your videos here on the blockchain.

My, I love every bit of the scenery you just shared with us, Sao Miguel island you called it? It's beautiful!!

You really did a good job compiling all those amazing takes together.

I like this initiative of yours and wouldn't mind stopping by often to enjoy more!!

Thanks for sharing my friend

Thank you, I somehow forgot about 3speak. I mean the last time I was checking them, it was meant to be a platform for just a certain type of video content, not for random stuff like travel videos etc. I guess I should check them out again...

Yes, the island is called Sao Miguel and it´s an absolutely breahtaking place. In the past, I dedicated a number of posts to it. This is the last one and at the end of it, there are links to all of the previous posts about the island, should you be interested ;)

Yes check it out again, I think you can post almost anything using 3speak now.

Well, you know that shitty weather is an inseparable part of the Azores :D During those 7 months that we spent there, we had to deal with it on countless occasions. But it only makes you enjoy and appreciate the beautiful days more ;)

A really awesome place. The scenery around this island looks amazing. The video is short but interesting. The front of the beach looks like it is full of fog. Looks like the video was captured from above.

Yes it was captured from above :) From the top of a hill, it´s mentioned in the post. Thanks for checking it out, I have a few more videos from this island.

Thanks buddy :) You actually post videos on 3speak quite often so are there any limitations in terms of the topics or can you upload any kind of content there?

I couldn't run the video, but it looks an amazing nature. When I am on travel, I also capture many photos as well. I took about 600 photos in my last travel. I have many photos from my travels to make posts on HIVE as well, yet I haven't made, don't know why.

I don´t know why the video is not working for you... I just tried and it works fine for me.

Well, it´s increasingly harder to make a post from photos that you took months or even years ago :D Always better to do it asap :) At least that´s my experience...
