Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 89
Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
Welcome to the 89th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)
I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.
The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.
The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)
Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.
I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:
Only one entry (photo) per person per round.
The photo must be yours and not older than one week.
Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.
You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.
Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.
I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)
To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:
Last weekend, we took a little trip to the Zakrzowek Quarry, a flooded limestone quarry and one of our favorite natural places here in Krakow, Poland. The weather could have been better but we still enjoyed the hike around the quarry. I mean on sunny days, the water in the quarry is incredibly clear and turquoise and the vivid autumn colors of the surrounding trees would also stand out more in the sunlight but it was it was :) On our way back home, we even got wet as it started to rain. Rain is very common in autumn here in Central Europe.
In the last round, we had 7 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

Thanks, @trangbaby for introducing me to the challenge. I really love this one. I often go on a solo trip and explore some the destinations that people don't dare to go alone. Last Sunday, I thought that I was lost but in the end, I found a great spot to camp in Hai Van Pass, Da Nang, Vietnam. Here is one of my picture taken at the place and I hope you will like it.

Błędowska Desert in southern Poland. Picture taken two days ago. Autumn in its fullest is obvious even in this deserted landscape.
Not really cool with the self-voting thing.
Thanks for your entry :)
You mean that TipU self vote? In the past, there used to be at least small rewards (mostly between 0.1 and 0.5 Hive per day) for us, the TipU curators, who manually go through other people´s posts, look for the good and undervalued ones and give the TipU votes to them. Those who delegate to TipU don´t have to do anything and they have a very decent passive income from their delegations. Us, curators, we work every day and get nothing for it so the occasional self votes that are allowed (only up to 10% of your total curation though) is the only little reward we now have for our work. So no, I am not ashamed ;)
I totally get this part, it's ok for me. I mean just usual self-vote with the stake, and this is not the first time I see it here. It could be some autovoting thing I believe.
Ah, you mean posts self votes. Yes, I do that, I admit. But I always try to keep the self voting below or around 10%, which means that at least 90% of my votes go to other people, usually around 150 different accounts every week (mostly manual curation + some autovotes).
Moreover, I have made just one partial power down so far so the rewards are almost always used for increasing my HP that is then used for curation. I know that anything else but 0% self voting might not be cool for some but just like with that 10% Tipu self curation, I am not really ashamed. Everyone´s choice I guess :) But thanks for sharing your opinion, I appreciate it.
Oh wow, I love the color of the sunset in the desert. They blend beautifully together :)
Wow, a beautiful pic. 😮
On this afternoon, October 28, after finishing work, I went to a place in Son Tra-Da Nang(Viet Nam)
peninsula to relax and had a dog of a local house nearby come and enjoy the scenery with me. Did you see two men are contemplating it?
Nice :) What a cool companion you got there! Thanks for your entry.
Love it :)
It look so windy over there @crazy-bee. Is that the storm coming to Da Nang again?
Da Nang is lucky that there are not many storms this year, if there are a double disaster like that, there will be a lot of sad stories
We appreciate power

Congrats to all the winners, great entries :)) Great shot @phortun. It's stunning with the colorful autumn trees surrounding the quarry :) It's been raining here too. There was a nice ray of sunshine yesterday, so I went out on my bicycle and enjoyed nature. :) Of course, I don't forget to put my entry here. The picture was just taken yesterday in Da Nang. 🤩 Wishing everyone a great weekend and looking forward to checking others' entries !!!

Hi @phortun, here is my entry for this round. The sun went down behind the trees, leaving a beautiful orange - yellow stripe. Its beautiful really attracted me, and I captured that moment to save these wonderful colors. This scene is right behind my house in Quang Nam, Viet Nam.
Thank you so much for your challenge. 😊
You captured a really impressive scenery up there, thank you :)
hI @phortun, this is my entry for this round. The sunset photo was taken at Son Tra beach- Da Nang last Saturday when I organized a camping trip for a group of friends. We had a lot of fun and a great weekend. Thank you and I hope you like it.
I do like it for sure! Stunning scenery, thank you so much :)
On Sunday passed last weekend we were with some friends at Brunswick Heads, NSW, Australia, celebrating a friends birthday party by the Brunswick sailing club a beautiful nature scenery with the huge tall pine trees in the background and the Brunswick river flowing through the town certainly picturesque and a beautiful spot by the river to be having a couple drinks with the birthday boy.
Very nice shot, I like the composition and the reflection :) Thanks for your entry man!
My pleasure thanks buddy 👍
