SSC Goals Report 9 May 2022
Hello Saturday Savings Club friends! I'm back with a belated report on my progress for the month. :)
In my goals post, I had said that in addition to pulling out what funds I needed for basics like rent and cat food, I wanted to stash enough HBD in a savings account to buy myself a music keyboard (I'm estimating 275 HBD), amass 200 EDS tokens, and finish my French workbook that I've been using when I make my "Study With Me" videos. :)
Goal #1: Keyboard Funds
I am now up to 59.857 (which will cross 60 in a couple of days when I collect my HBD interest, yay!) HBD in my savings account (over on @faeriestories, my alt account). Last month I had 44.317 HBD, so that's an increase of 15.54 HBD. I was hoping to put more away this month but I had to pull some of my earnings for rent and cat food. That's part of my plan for my earnings as well, so I'm trying not to worry about it and trust that I'll make up for it with a bigger savings in another month. :) Ya gotta be flexible sometimes!
Goal #2: 200 EDS
Last month I was at 141 EDS, so I gained ten more this month! I feel good about my progress on this goal. I think I will definitely make it to 200 by the end of the year. :)
Goal #3: Finish French Textbook
...a total flop on this one this month, lol. 😅 I haven't studied once. Admittedly I've had other things going on in life, but still. Not once? Naughty Phoenix. I realized this recently (that I had made no progress in a month) and now it's poking my brain to get on it. Perhaps I will make another Study With Me video just to make it a dual-purpose task. That usually gets me going.

My goals for May include doing a lot of studying! :) How are y'all doing with your goals?
I have always wanted to buy myself a musical keyboard too but I never set goals for it. I guess I will do what you’re doing.

Hello. You're doing good with your savings. I like your EDS numbers. I'm a bit slow myself. Overall, I see your progress. Yes, you have to be flexible when approaching your goals. Your keyboard is on the radar!

BEER.Last week I had to pull my French dictionary out of the re-cycling. I had put it there as part of my clearing-all-the-books spring cleaning (hasn't actually made it as far as a charity shop, though)! Anyway, a friend at work is studying French and I sent her a little message in French ... but I had to look up a word in the response she sent me ... also in French. Hoist by my own petard, as my mum would say 😁.
You're making fabulous progress with your savings: the HBD provides you with an emergency fund and helps to grow your savings (for cashflow and the keyboard) and the EDS is helping to move you to a different place all together. So good to see 😍.
Hmm, no studying ... that's like me and my knitting 😂. I'm trying to build a daily practice (in addition to actually getting more knitting, whatever it turns out to be, it's a kind of meditation piece, if you know what I mean). My major reason (for not doing it) right now is getting everything planted in the garden, especially as I am going to be away for a few days and it is warm, and I want everything to have the best chance of surviving. I did have a wonderful day on Thursday, planting and playing gardening (I was trying to lay some paths so I can get to everything when it is full growth) ... I guess knitting will find its place eventually.
I like the study with me posts, I've seen one recently where the guy was sitting in his garden, complete with birdsong, writing his Morning Pages, that was good, too. The ones I find most motivating are the clean with me ones ... somehow that running water keeps me moving 😁
I just put my pumpkin seedlings outside yesterday. Fingers crossed they thrive!
I was thinking once I find where I put the wingnuts to put my table back together (I still haven't found them yet), I would try and do a Study With Me on the balcony. :D Only in my neighborhood it might be birdsong and construction, lol.
