People Are the Best ROI
Yes, I know that this title sounds a bit weird, but you probably get the point... In the "quiet", or bearish crypto market, everyone (not everyone, but those with experience) tries to figure out how to accumulate more coins/tokens... There is no sense to sell your hardly earned crypto, so the best option is to HODL and try to accumulate more...
Members of social networks as Hive and LBRY, don't have to worry too much as by creating stuff, they are earning more coins... So, it is not a brainer what you have to do, but still...
People are searching for the best ROI (Return On Investment) for their coins, and lately, I see a lot of blog posts with ROI as the main topic... One of the ways you can earn tokens on Hive is curation or upvoting other's posts... By doing that, you earn around 50% of your upvote back, but that is still just "around"...
If you are using your VP (Voting Power) wisely, your curation ROI should be around 10%, but there are some tricks on how to make that number higher... To maximize your returns, you should set up automatic voting, pick up some "profitable" authors (investigate which one complies) and maybe have a bit of luck... Anyways, there is a work involved as it is continuously adjusting...
On the other sides, I have a bit different look on this matter... My current ROI is around 10% (maybe a bit less), but I know why is it like that, and I'm fine with that... I have set up a part of my upvotes to go in "automatic vote", but I like to have the freedom to upvote posts manually... I believe that in that way, I have a kind of "personal" touch with the author + I usually leave a comment on their post...
Just remember... Behind all those upvotes that you get on your posts and comment are REAL people... Those are not just numbers that are going up (or down) just like that, without any meaning... Show appreciation for them, thank them in your replies, show gratitude when you learn something new, and ENGAGE with others... Nice words in the comments are far-way valuable than any money...
People are the BEST ROI on the Hive blockchain and the safest bet in the long-term!

Excellent video, this is spot on - people are the real investment, the true long-term plan - build a community, surround yourself with people that support one another, and support them reciprocally - that's when the magic really happens.

I agree that the constant reminder to engage everyday is a message that needs to be hammered all the timer.
If people want to improve their position then they need to engage
I use PeakD and everyday I look at all topics, first I look at trending and up vote and comment on posts that engage me to do so
I then go to all recent posts and do the same.
I engage with new people and new people engage with me everyday

When it comes to the blockchain I would measure the social aspect differently than in real life. By the way I believe that most people on Hive are rather introvert people, me included ;-)
I had a similar feeling when I was thinking about it... A lot of people that are in my surroundings are introverts... and we have met on social network... loooool...

I appreciate what you are saying with auto voting. But much like you, I strictly do manual voting. I just have always done that and probably will continue. Like you say it's more than just numbers.

Actually, we witnessed this whey JS stole the old blockchain from the people... We just packed our stuff, and moved to a better place... Yesterday was Steem, today is Hive, and tomorrow who knows... But people and the community are expanding and growing... ;)
I agree. The problem is when people become 'jaded' because of issues with others like JS keep cropping up on different platforms.
We don't live in a perfect world, so there will always be those who don't want to play by the rules. As my friend says it: "Some people just want to watch the world burn."

Yes, it's all about people. If you delete people from the equation, everything will collapse. People are reading your post and watching your videos, maybe you do not know that unless you see a comment. Many people are reading and watching, I can bet.
It is enough to look at our "old home" (old blockchain), where is now ghost town with bots upvoting, creating money, but there is ZERO engagement... It can last for some time, but it won't be long... :(
I agree with that. We have never thought that we had to face this. In the end, everything turned out good. We have Hive blockchain. I get more support on Hive than steem blockchain.
everyone gets more support here than there... Actually, we had that Steemit STAKE as a "hanging piano" over our heads... Now, that we don't have that obstacle, everyone is more relaxed and focused on growth...
