VEGGIES // MY JUTE MALLOW PLANT // LIFE OF A CROP FARMER

At first I didn't plan this because my first intention for the rented land by is to use it for only maize plants. So after all that being done, there was some spaces left for me to use for other plants most especially for veggies. Veggies like jute mallow, vegetables itself, ugwu and the likes do not necessarily need large amount of pieces of land before they can't be planted. I just bought some seeds and sprinkles some in between the base of the ridges.

No ridges needed.

Normally,to plant veggies we don't necessarily need ridges because they are not plants that have wide root like some other plants.

Propagation of jute mallow.

Jute mallow is usually planted via propagation. And during harvest,it is harvested by uprooting the root of the vegetables. Jute mallow is known be annual crop which takes almost like 3 months to fully reach harvest.

Mode of preparation.

If you are someone who likes draw soup, jute mallow stands the chance of being the best in the game. This draw soup is usually common the Yorùbá tribe of Nigeria that are situation in the Western part of Nigeria. This soup is not literally common the Ibos. The draw soup is best known to be good for taking any swallow food most especially Amala.

We call that "Saluyot" here in the Philippines. People in here also plant that in their backyard and we prefer it stir fried. 😊

I love jute because it is a strong, durable, and sustainable material. Jute has a variety of uses, from making rope to fabric to paper. It is also a beautiful plant, with large leaves and pretty flowers. I am always happy to see jute growing in my garden too.
