Currently, we have scarcity of broiler birds for consumption in the market. This is because most poultry farmers are pulling out of the race to continue running the business because of the inflation that has hit the world market on price of goods. The inflation in question here also dabbled to hit the price of day old chicks too and their feeds.

Inflation on chicks' price.

When I started this poultry farm business, I know how much I usually buy day old birds. The price was around #180($0.4) to #270($0.6) but presently the price for day old chicks have really shooted to around #570($1.4) to #670($1.6). It has really made some farmers to pull out of the business for now. A group of farmers visited my poultry farm some days ago looking to buy some broiler birds. They shared their story with me that,they couldn't continue the business because of the inflation on the price of day old chicks.

Deciding factor.

What I always believed in business is this,you sell what you buy. This is also attached with poultry farm business,you sell what you rear after you must have calculated your cost expenses.
