BECAUSE IT'S NIGHT AND COLD OUT HERE,MY BIRDS SORTING THEIR SELVES TO GENERATE HEAT // LIFE OF A LIVESTOCK FARMER.
One thing I appreciate for this raining period is that,it's really helping my maize and cassava to grow and germinate very well but on the other hand it's not favorable to my just 11days old birds. Due to the rain and there is a little slight of cold,so it's not really treating them well because they are still babies and also they lack feathers
So what do they do as alternative to generate heat among their selves?
Normally, when there is no means of generating heat, though in their first 4 days I was making in the pen out of charcoal in a small iron pot until they were able to withstand slight cold. Attimes, most times what I use as an alternative to charcoal is the heat from electricity supply with 200 watts yellow bulbs. You will see them under these bulbs receiving heat from the bulbs and you wonder how they do this? They do this by rotation or roaster. So if there is no light which seems like the penultimate option, they will result to arranging their selves batch by batch, like in sections to generate heat within their selves, this is easy for them because broiler birds do not have sweat glands. So as little as they are they can generate an amount of heat to survive the cold weather. That is how they will be until when the electricity supply is on.
