Resident Evil 4 HD Project: A fan-made project that beats the original | Small comparison with the remake [ENG - ESP]
With all the hype that has been created for Resident Evil 4 remake, I decided to join the wave of those who are refreshing their memories and hearts by replaying Resident Evil 4. I personally have played this game countless times, but I must admit that I had forgotten it a bit.
A few days ago I decided to download the famous Resident Evil HD fan-made project, I wanted to see if the visual difference was really noticeable. At first I didn't notice any difference, as I mentioned before, I hadn't played Resident Evil 4 for a long time, I didn't remember too much how the old textures looked like.
I watched some gameplays in detail and I realized that there was a lot of difference between Resident Evil 4 and the fan enhanced RE4, it's amazing how everything looks more detailed, you enjoy the scenery more and it also has some interesting additions that you can play while you play. The funny thing is that the fan hd project outperformed the remaster by far, it seems that nowadays video game fans care much more that a game lasts than their own developers.
One of those things that I liked a lot was that the game allowed me to adjust the FOV (field of view), this allowed me to have better vision when fighting with several enemies and in my opinion the scenarios were more enjoyable, whenever a game lets you set the FOV I set it to the maximum.
I spent some time enjoying the game and it was amazing, I had a lot of fun, although I would have preferred to have played it on the highest difficulty (I haven't unlocked it yet). If I'm being totally honest, it felt like I was playing through the game on easy mode even though I hadn't played it for a long time, but it still wasn't bad at all.

I also took the opportunity to compare it with the demo of the current remake, and honestly the change is magnificent, it's just another game. I didn't play the demo too long as I want to get the juice out of the game when it's officially released, but I was able to enjoy it quite a bit. I know that probably if I defeated all the villagers or if I waited a bit longer the demo would be over, so I preferred to try some new combat mechanics that I had already seen in the last trailer, mechanics like Parry with the knife, duck when attacked, and more.
I want to clarify that I played very badly in the demo due to the fact that I bought an Xbox controller and I have many years without playing with a controller. Despite missing all my bullets, it felt different, I felt like I was playing on a console and not my work tool. Obviously I will still play on my keyboard and mouse, but most of the games I will be enjoying with my controller.
After emphasizing the big differences between the two games, I'll tell you a little about what was my first chapter in the R4 hd project. The game remains faithful to the original, so don't expect changes like in the remake, you will only notice that the textures are much better defined and that it doesn't look like an old game.
I finished the first chapter in 43 minutes, and that was a little fast, I only stopped a couple of times to analyze the setting and look for some things, I hate to leave things unexplored in video games. I would like to mention everything I did, but maybe you haven't played the game and you'd rather do it or maybe you'd rather watch it than read it, besides it's a game that probably everyone who reads it knows it by heart. Con todo el Hype que se ha creado de Resident Evil 4 remake, decidí sumarme a la ola de los que están refrescando sus memorias y corazones rejugando al Resident Evil 4. Yo personalmente me he pasado este juego en incontables ocasiones, pero debo de admitir que lo tenía un poco olvidado.
Hace unos días decidí descargarme el proyecto famoso de Resident Evil HD creado por fans, quería ver si realmente la diferencia visual era notable. Al principio no noté ninguna diferencia, como ya lo mencioné antes, tenía mucho tiempo sin jugar Resident Evil 4, no recordaba demasiado como eran las texturas viejas, y eso que si había visto algunos gameplays hace poco.
Miré algunos gameplays detalladamente y me di cuenta de que si había muchísima diferencia entre el Resident Evil 4 y el RE4 mejorado por los fans, es increíble el como todo luce más detallado, disfrutas más de los escenarios y también tiene algunos añadidos interesantes que puedes toquetear mientras juegas. Lo curioso es que el proyecto hd de los fans superó al remaster por mucho, parece que hoy en día a los fans de los videojuegos les importa mucho más que un juego perdure que a sus propios desarrolladores.
Una de esas cosas que me gustó mucho fue que el juego me permitía ajustar el FOV(campo de visión), esto me permitía tener mejor visión a la hora de pelear con varios enemigos y a mi parecer los escenarios se disfrutaban más, siempre que un juego deja configurar el FOV yo lo coloco al máximo.
Estuve un rato disfrutando del juego y fue increíble, me divertí un montón, aunque preferiría haberlo jugado en la máxima dificultad(aún no la desbloqueo). Si soy totalmente honesto, parecía que me estaba pasando el juego en modo fácil a pesar de que tenía un montón de tiempo sin jugarlo, aún así no estuvo nada mal.

También aproveché de compararlo con la demo del remake actual, y honestamente el cambio es magnífico, simplemente es otro juego. No jugué demasiado tiempo la demo ya que quiero sacarle el jugo al juego cuando se lance oficialmente, pero pude disfrutarla bastante. Sé que probablemente si derrotaba a todos los aldeanos o si esperaba un poco más la demo se acabaría, así que preferí probar algunas mecánicas nuevas de combate que ya había visto en el último trailer, mecánicas como el Parry con el cuchillo, agacharme al ser atacado, y más.
Quiero aclarar que jugué muy mal en la demo debido a que compré un mando de Xbox y tengo muchos años sin jugar con un mando. A pesar de fallar todas mis balas, se sentía diferente, sentía que estaba jugando en una consola y no en mi herramienta de trabajo. Obviamente seguiré jugando en con mi teclado y ratón, pero la mayoría de los juegos los estaré disfrutando con mi mando.
Ya después de recalcar las grandes diferencias entre ambos juegos, te hablaré un poco acerca de lo que fue mi primer capítulo en el proyecto hd de R4. El juego se mantiene fiel al original, así que no esperes que hayan cambios así como en el remake, solo notarás que las texturas están mucho mejor definidas y que no parece un juego tan viejo.
Terminé el primer capítulo en 43 minutos, y eso que iba un poco rápido, solo me detuve un par de veces para analizar la ambientación y buscar algunas cosas, detesto dejarme cosas sin explorar en los videojuegos. Quisiera mencionar todo lo que hice, pero tal vez no hayas jugado al juego y prefieras hacerlo o tal vez prefieras verlo que leerlo, además de que es un juego que probablemente todo el que lo lea se lo sepa de memoria. Tuve la oportunidad de verme esta versión casi completa en Stream y es una mejora bastante notable. Antes de verla no me esperaba un gran cambio, pero le da un plus bastante grande al juego a nivel visual, sobre todo por la iluminación en algunas zonas o la exagerada mejora de texturas en otras. Es increíble que lo hayan hecho un grupo fans.

Chamo yo si es verdad que lo RE nunca los jugue a gusto, aunque el 4 creo que si lo termine, me recuerdo en especial del vendedor era comico que parecia un traficante XD

Definitivamente debería probar esta remake ya que Resident Evil 4 es mi videojuego favorito de esta franquicia, y aunque nunca lo complete si fue a el que le dediqué más tiempo de juego.

There are so many changes and new mechanics that it's quite exciting, the best part is that the game still maintains its essence, only this time it's obviously a 4k hd game.

El HD Project hace que el juego original luzca genial, la verdad es que es un mod muy interesante. El Remake al ser un juego de 2023 tiene gráficos y animaciones mucho más detallados. Yo actualmente juego más en PC pero no me acostumbro al teclado y ratón, me parecen muy incomodados para cualquier juego porque estoy acostumbrado a jugar en consolas desde pequeño.
La versión que hicieron en HD Project con el RE4 fue un trabajo de muchos años y además, recalcar que esa gente lo hizo gratis, por amor al arte (nunca mejor dicho xD) y a la saga. La verdad que se lo trabajaron bastante. Esos detalles del FOV que comentas, luego la forma en la que se ve el juego gráficamente, que puedas prácticamente ajustar tantísimas cosas... Uff se notó bastante el trabajazo y el cambio que hicieron.
Jajja una sufriendo para que no le maten en la demo y tú dejándote agarrar para que te atraviesen con la motosierra 🤣 está guay la animación y la muerte. Yo creo que vamos a disfrutar muuucho este Remake, ya tengo ganas de que salga y lo iré jugando y subiendo por aquí. 😄
Lo único que no me gusta del HD remaster es que la aceleración es demasiado sensible y en lo personal me genera mareos :3 me gustó tu post

los juegos muchas veces duran tanto por sus fans y no tanto por lo que hacen con el juego, es como pasa con minecraft, si contamos lo que hacen los desarrolladores es minimo a lo que hace la comunidad para mantenerlo vivo. Volver a jugar con mando es bastante dificil cuando le perdiste la costumbre pero con mucha practica vas a poder jugar bien dentro de poco
