I have played very little to this game, I still don't understand too much how it goes hahaha. I only know that the main thing is to organize a strategy, add your frontline and backline cards, all with different abilities. I guess it will be about reading the opponent and having a bit of luck.

I truly like Splinterlands, I usually play it when I'm having lunch or doing some other menial task, just to kill some time.

There are strategies to use: how to optimize your team (correct order, abilities), combos, knowledge of the current meta, etc. But, as you said, reading your opponent is probably the major factor: as almost all cards/strategies has hard-counters, if you can guess the enemy team, you can just rolfstomp the match.

In the end, I think that there are 3 possibilities: if you hard-counter the enemy, you win; if you're hard-countered by your enemy, you lose; and when both players misses the hard-countering, then the player with better strategy win.

The game is way "simpler" than other games like Gods Unchained, so it's expected to it end up having less strategy/deep gameplay.
