Epic Silence ~Discovering Music

As much as I listen to the same shit over and over on youtube, every once in a blue moon you hear a song and need to find out more.

Les Friction

Dark Matter from the Album Dark matter

From what I can find their main album is Dark Matter and they have about 5 singles before then with instrumental versions for each song also.

So effectively with only 20 or so songs in their entirety Les Friction is still a great find worth adding to any playlist.

Which I think is what many have done, almost every Epic Rock or Epic Music playlist I hear on Youtube usually contains at least one Les Friction song.

Their sound is just that good, the Lead singer has a great voice and obviously, the orchestral sound always makes everything better.

I think one of my favourites is "Make Believe" and it is probably the most generic kind of song with vibes of Galaxy of Blue ... I forget who sang that... For the most part I like the lyrics but it is just a good tune with a rich sound and I like songs where someones voice could be seen as an instrument and without it the song would just not be the same.

Make Believe ~Les Friction

I guess it is not Galaxy of Blue, the song I was thinking of is "Another Universe ~Arno Carstens"

Back to Les Friction though. Another one definitely worth an immediate listen is "World on fire" , the build-up seems to be a trademark of the band, and it is always worth it.

This playlist seems to list almost all their songs, but do click through to their official account.

The Spiritual Machines

From what I see on Les Friction's youtube account they last released "Dark Matter" as a playlist in 2017. A search indicated that they went and created a new band called The Spiritual Machines

A quick skim of this playlist for their first Album definitely shows the break away from their epic sound, I would need to listen more to see what I like. Fortunately I think there will be a few as the album builds up song for songs from the soft intro to mid songs being much harder. Maybe some of that Les Friction trademark has just been applied to the album as a whole.

These albums I mainly link from the Youtube Topic page but I am sure someone out there has uploaded full versions as single videos.

Their second album starts more recognizable as Les Frictions lead singer starts singing with the epic strings in the back already.

And again, they have disappeared it seems. I could not find anything more apart from a few mentions to their Graphic Novel Kickstarter.

Maybe they just got a bit discouraged, and maybe they will start making more music. So far I think Les Friction was their best sound but hoping there will be some gems in the albums I am yet to listen.

If they got discouraged, we could very well see them back eventually - especially if they see the viees building up.
