587 days have passed since the quarantine was declared in Venezuela due to the Covid19 pandemic. In a few days it is proposed to carry out a "flexibilization" in order to facilitate economic activities and the mobilization of the population for the Christmas holidays, but it does not imply an official lifting of the quarantine ... so I don't know how to keep track of those days, I guess I'll double-count to avoid complicating my life trying to figure out if we came out of quarantine or not.

Thinking of Nobel, I remember that due to his experiments with explosives, he produced an accident in which 4 people died, which includes his little brother, I think that accident caused a turning point in his person and led him to treat to achieve greater stability in industrial explosives that were used both for mining and for construction and land preparation. When he succeeded he was satisfied, although he was disappointed to learn that his inventions were used in wars and were used to kill people.
I must say that although Nobel was a pacifist, he was quite realistic in terms of his political understanding and knew that the clash of interests could not be avoided, in fact he seemed to think that the only way to avoid being attacked was to have such quantity and quality of His own weapons that would make the enemies not see it profitable to make a war, that would explain how this pacifist also dedicated himself to the heavy arms business, as well as the oil wells and others that allowed him to amass a large fortune. It could be said that Nobel's idea was to produce a rational fear that if a war broke out the losses would be much greater than the gains, which indeed resembles the idea after the Cold War of the 20th century. He wanted to develop a weapon so terrifying that humanity was afraid to use it ... I really think that he was an idealist, he never considered within his calculations the madness and stupidity of the human species, because it is certain that if he created such a weapon, as some charismatic leader would be able to convince his armies to use it in the name of some lofty ideal and with great words everyone would literally go to hell.
Anyway, going on to personal things, I am publishing the blog early because I plan to go out and buy some vegetables and other minor things to complement the food I have at home, I have nothing relevant to comment on and I really like calm days, it is my turn pray that this day continues like this and does not get "intense or interesting." 587 días han pasado desde que se declaró la cuarentena en Venezuela por la pandemia de Covid19. En pocos días se plantea llevar a cabo una "flexibilización" a fin de facilitar las actividades económicas y la movilización de población por las fiestas navideñas, pero no implica un levantamiento oficial de la cuarentena, entonces no sé como llevar la cuenta de esos días, supongo que llevaré un doble conteo para evitar complicarme la vida tratando de descifrar si es que salimos de la cuarentena o no.
Hoy, en las efemérides, veo que en 1844, nace el químico e industrial sueco Alfred Nobel, un gran inventor, un inversionista afortunado y un pacifista declarado. Se le recuerda en general por dos cosas, una es la invención de la dinamita (que facilitó el uso de productos explosivos a la par de la nitroglicerina pero mucho mas estable para su aplicación) y los premios que llevan su nombre y se consideran los de mayor prestigio para muy distintas disciplinas desde hace mas de un siglo.
Pensando en Nobel, me acuerdo que debido a sus experimentos con explosivos produjo un accidente en el que murieron 4 personas, lo que incluye a su hermano pequeño, creo que ese accidente provocó un punto de inflexión en su persona y le llevó a tratar de lograr una mayor estabilidad en los explosivos industriales que se usaban tanto para la minería como para la construcción y la preparación de terrenos. Cuando lo logró se mostró satisfecho, aunque se decepcionó al saber que sus invenciones eran usadas en las guerras y servían para matar gente.
Debo decir que si bien Nobel era un pacifista, era bastante realista en cuanto a su comprensión política y sabía que no se podía evitar el choque de intereses, de hecho parecía pensar que la única forma de evitar ser atacado era tener tal cantidad y calidad de armamento propio que hiciera que los enemigos no vieran rentable hacer una guerra, eso explicaría como es que este pacifista se dedicó también al negocio de armamento pesado, al igual que al de los pozos petroleros y otros que le permitieron amasar una cuantiosa fortuna. Se podría decir que la idea de Nobel era producir un miedo racional a que si se desataba una guerra las perdidas serían mucho mayores que las ganancias, lo que en verdad se parece a la idea tras la Guerra Fría del Siglo XX. Él quería desarrollar un arma tan aterradora que la humanidad tuviera miedo de usarla.. en verdad que en eso creo que era un idealista, nunca consideró dentro de sus cálculos la locura y la estupidez de la especie humana, pues es seguro que si el creaba tal arma, pues algún líder carismático lograría convencer a sus ejércitos para usarla en nombre de algún ideal elevado y con palabras grandiosas todos se iría literalmente al infierno.
En fin, pasando a cosas personales, estoy publicando la bitácora temprano porque pienso salir a comprar algunas hortalizas y otras cosas menores para complementar la comida que tengo en casa, nada relevante tengo para comentar y de verdad que me gustan los días calmados, me toca rogar que este día siga así y no se ponga "intenso ni interesante".
