The curse of discouragement

Story: One day the devil was finishing off his toolbox. In it was, pride, idleness, arrogance, envy, jealousy, adultery, lies, etc. On one tool was a note that read: "Not for sale." And they asked the devil, why is this tool not for sale? And the devil replied: "Because I can not afford to sell this tool, it is the most important to me and it is called discouragement." And they asked him again, And why is it so important? And satan answered: “Well, with this tool I can force my way into the hearts of human beings and once I am inside, I can do anything I want to do. That is why discouragement is my main tool.”

Listen, any work we do for God will always face opposition from satan. When the children of God say: "Let us arise and build." Satan and his demons say, "Let's get up and stop them." And in the book of Neh we have a clear example of how the devil tried to oppose the work of God by ridiculing Neh and his people. Ridicule is a diabolical tool.
But satan has other tools, other methods to oppose the work of God. Let's see Neh 4:7-10 “But it came to pass, when Sanballat and Tobiah, and the Arabs, the Ammonites and those of Ashdod, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being repaired, because the gates were already beginning to be closed, they were very angry; 8 and they all conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and harm her. 9 Then we prayed to our God, and for their sake we set guard against them day and night. 10 And Judah said: The forces of the carriers have weakened, and the rubble is much, and we cannot build the wall.

This is the first note of discouragement in the entire book. Judah said, "We won't be able to do it, we won't be able to finish what we started, we won't be able to rebuild the wall." Look at V11 "And our enemies said: Do not know, nor see, until we come into their midst and kill them, and cause the work to cease." Let's think about the curse of discouragement first and the cause of discouragement second. Along with ridicule, discouragement is also a tool of satan:

You can do damage with discouragement, and more damage than anything else. Those people we consider good can be victims of discouragement, and if you are not careful you can also be reached by discouragement. See Neh 4:10 And Judah said, The forces of the carriers are weakened, and the rubble is much, and we cannot build the wall.” Who was Judah? It was the main tribe, the tribe that had the leadership, the tribe from which the lineage of the Lord would come. And this tribe was the one that said: It cannot be done. When you are discouraged the devil is on your way making sure that the curse of discouragement falls on you.
The cause of discouragement In V10 and 11 there are at least 3 obvious causes for discouragement. TIREDNESS, ANNOYANCE AND THREATS.

La maldición del desánimo

Historia: Un día el diablo estaba rematando su caja de herramientas. En ella estaba, el orgullo, la ociosidad, la arrogancia, la envidia, los celos, el adulterio, la mentira, etc. Sobre una herramienta había una nota que decía: “No está a la venta”. Y le preguntaron al diablo, ¿Por qué no está a la venta esta herramienta? Y el diablo contestó: “Porque no puedo darme el lujo de vender esta herramienta, es la más importante para mí y se llama desánimo”. Y le preguntaron de nuevo, ¿Y por qué es tan importante? Y satanás contestó: “Bueno, con ésta herramienta puedo forzar mi entrada en el corazón de los seres humanos y una vez que estoy adentro, puedo hacer todo lo que quiera hacer. Por eso el desánimo es mi herramienta principal”.

Escuche, cualquier trabajo que hagamos para Dios, siempre tendrá que enfrentar la oposición de satanás. Cuando los hijos de Dios dicen: “Levantémonos y construyamos”. Satanás y sus demonios dicen: “Levantémonos y detengámoslos”. Y en el libro de Neh tenemos un claro ejemplo de cómo el diablo trató de oponerse a la obra de Dios poniendo en ridículo a Neh y a su gente. El ridículo es una herramienta diabólica.
Pero satanás tiene otras herramientas, otros métodos para oponerse al trabajo de Dios. Veamos Neh 4:7-10 “Pero aconteció que oyendo Sanbalat y Tobías, y los árabes, los amonitas y los de Asdod, que los muros de Jerusalén eran reparados, porque ya los portillos comenzaban a ser cerrados, se encolerizaron mucho; 8 y conspiraron todos a una para venir a atacar a Jerusalén y hacerle daño. 9 Entonces oramos a nuestro Dios, y por causa de ellos pusimos guarda contra ellos de día y de noche. 10 Y dijo Judá: Las fuerzas de los acarreadores se han debilitado, y el escombro es mucho, y no podemos edificar el muro”.
Ésta es la primera nota de desánimo en todo el libro. Judá dijo: “No podremos hacerlo, no podremos terminar lo que hemos empezado, no podremos reconstruir el muro”. Mire el V11 “Y nuestros enemigos dijeron: No sepan, ni vean, hasta que entremos en medio de ellos y los matemos, y hagamos cesar la obra”. Pensemos primero en la maldición del desánimo y segundo en la causa del desánimo. Junto con el ridículo, el desánimo es también una herramienta de satanás:

Se puede hacer daño con el desánimo, y más daño que con otra cosa. Aquellas personas que consideramos buenas pueden ser víctimas del desánimo, y si ud no tiene cuidado también puede ser alcanzado por el desánimo. Mire Neh 4:10 Y dijo Judá: Las fuerzas de los acarreadores se han debilitado, y el escombro es mucho, y no podemos edificar el muro”. ¿Quién fue Judá? Era la tribu principal, la tribu que tenía el liderazgo, la tribu de la cual saldría el linaje del Señor. Y ésta tribu fue la que dijo: No se puede hacer. Cuando ud está desanimado el diablo está en su camino asegurándose de que la maldición del desánimo caiga sobre ud.
La causa del desánimo En los V10 y 11 hay por lo menos 3 causas evidentes para el desánimo. CANSANCIO, FASTIDIO Y AMENAZAS.
