Sanctification and Justification, a blessing.

But not only that, Paul also says in V2 to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus”. They had been sanctified in Christ Jesus. In other words, they had been set apart by God through Christ and declared perfectly righteous before him.

Our legal status before God has completely changed in his presence. 2 Cor 5:21 says, "He who knew no sin became sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him."
Fourth blessing is: transformation of our lives.

We have already been justified. But God not only changed our legal status before him, but he is also doing a work in us through which he is transforming our lives, so that we reflect more and more his character, so that we become more and more like him. . That is what theologians call progressive sanctification. Note the V2

Illustration: What happens when a man and a woman come together in the sacred bond of marriage? That from that moment, that man and that woman become one. They are already one, now in practice, they are going to have to grow, they are going to have to progress so that this unity is more and more evident among them. And for that you have to work on the marriage, the unity that you already have positionally, it must grow practically.
And that is what Paul is saying here: you were already sanctified, and God freed you from the slavery of sin, and your legal status has changed before him, but now you have to live in practice, being more and more holy, more and more like God.

Again, we are so used to reading this greeting in Paul's letters that we can easily lose sight of the enormous blessing that is contained in this phrase.
Paul is saying here that, regardless of the circumstances you may be going through right now, by the mere fact of being in Christ, you enjoy the favor of God, you are blessed of God, you are favored of God. . In other words, because Christ died for us on Calvary's cross, all the punishment, all the wrath that we deserved for our sins, was diverted to him. In such a way that we, the only thing we receive from God is a blessing. Even when he disciplines us, because God disciplines his children. When God disciplines his children, he is not like us, because he does it without anger, because when God disciplines his children, the only thing in his heart is love.

Primeramente vamos a la palabra de Dios :1°Cor 1:1-9 “Pablo llamado a ser apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, y el hermano Sóstenes 2 a la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, a los santificados en Cristo Jesús, llamados a ser santos con todos los que en cualquier lugar invocan el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, Señor de ellos y nuestro. 3 Gracia y paz a vosotros, de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo. 4 “Gracias doy a mi Dios siempre por vosotros, por la gracia de Dios que os fue dada en Cristo Jesús 5 porque en todas las cosas fuisteis enriquecidos en él, en toda palabra y en toda ciencia; 6 así como el testimonio acerca de Cristo ha sido confirmado en vosotros, 7 de tal manera que nada os falta en ningún don, esperando la manifestación de nuestro Señor Jesucristo; 8 el cual también os confirmará hasta el fin, para que seáis irreprensibles en el día de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. 9 Fiel es Dios, por el cual fuisteis llamados a la comunión con su Hijo Jesucristo nuestro Señor”

Santificación y Justificación, una bendicion.

Pero no solo eso, Pablo les dice también en el V2 a los santificados en Cristo Jesús”. Ellos habían sido santificados en Cristo Jesús. En otras palabras, ellos habían sido apartados por Dios por medio de Cristo y declarados perfectamente justos delante de él.
Eso es lo que significa ser cristiano, estar unidos de tal manera a Cristo por medio de la fe en su muerte y resurrección, que todos nuestros pecados han sido perdonados en el tribunal de Dios, y su justicia perfecta, es la que cuenta ahora para nuestra salvación. Nuestro status legal delante de Dios ha cambiado completamente en su presencia. 2°Cor 5:21 dice: “Al que no conoció pecado, por nosotros se hizo pecado, para que nosotros fuésemos hechos justicia de Dios en él”.
Cuarta bendición es: transformación de nuestras vidas.

Ya hemos sido justificados. Pero Dios no solo cambio nuestro status legal delante de él, sino que también está haciendo en nosotros una obra por medio de la cual él está transformando nuestras vidas, para que reflejemos cada vez más su carácter, para que nos parezcamos cada vez más a él. Eso es a los que los teólogos llaman santificación progresiva. Note el V2
“a la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, a los santificados en Cristo Jesús, llamados a ser santos…”
Ya fuimos santificados en Cristo, pero al mismo tiempo somos llamados a ser cada vez más santos en nuestra vida práctica.

Ilustración: ¿Qué ocurre cuando un hombre y una mujer se unen en el vínculo sagrado del matrimonio? Que a partir de ese momento, ese hombre y esa mujer vienen a ser uno. Ya son uno, ahora en la práctica, ellos van a tener que crecer, ellos van a tener que progresar para que esa unidad sea cada vez más evidente entre ellos. Y para eso hay que trabajar en el matrimonio, la unidad que ya tienen posicionalmente, debe crecer prácticamente.
Y eso es lo que Pablo está diciendo aquí: ya uds fueron santificados, ya Dios los libertó de la esclavitud del pecado, ya vuestro status legal ha cambiado delante de él, pero ahora tienen que vivir en la práctica, siendo cada vez más santos, cada vez más parecidos a Dios.

Pero todavía hay algo mas, V3 “Gracia y paz a vosotros, de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo”
Otra vez, estamos tan acostumbrados a leer en las cartas de Pablo esta salutación, que fácilmente podemos perder de vista, la enorme bendición que hay encerrada en ésta frase.
Pablo está diciendo aquí que, independientemente de las circunstancias por la que ud pueda estar atravesando en estos momentos, por el mero hecho de estar en Cristo, ud disfruta del favor de Dios, ud es un bendito de Dios, ud es un favorecido de Dios. En otras palabras, por el hecho que Cristo murió por nosotros en la cruz del Calvario, todo el castigo, toda la ira que nosotros merecíamos por nuestros pecados, fue desviada hacia él. De tal manera que nosotros, lo único que recibimos de parte de Dios es bendición. Aun cuando nos disciplina, porque Dios disciplina a sus hijos. Cuando Dios disciplina a sus hijos, él no es como nosotros, porque lo hace sin ira, porque cuando Dios disciplina a sus hijos, lo único que hay en su corazón es amor.
