Now ending this week, although there is still Saturday ahead, once again I share a portion of the word of God with you.
In 1 Corinthians 1:18-21, we can see the apparent contradiction between human wisdom and divine wisdom, especially in relation to the cross of Christ.

Because the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are lost; but to those who are saved, that is, to us, it is the power of God. For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will reject the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world mad? For since in the wisdom of God the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God to save believers through the foolishness of preaching.

First, Paul states that the preaching of the cross may seem foolish to those who do not understand its spiritual meaning and redemptive power. To those who are lost in their own conceptions and earthly wisdom, the idea that salvation comes through the death of a man on a cross may seem irrational and illogical.

However, for those who are saved, the cross is not simply an act of folly, but the power of God at work. Here, Paul emphasizes that true wisdom and power are in God himself, and that the cross is the means through which God works to save humanity.

Paul quotes the prophet Isaiah to demonstrate that human wisdom cannot reach God alone, and that God, in his sovereignty, has chosen to reveal himself and save humanity in a way that contradicts the expectations and wisdom of the world.

Therefore, the central message of this passage is that true wisdom and power are found in God and his redemptive work through the cross of Christ, and that this truth may seem foolish to those whose vision is limited by wisdom. earthly and the rules of the world.
