Magic versus Magic (Weekend Event Report) [ ENG | ESP ]

I am happy. I can't be less than that. I went back to Mythic, stayed there in the weekend event, and got 13 wins which, for me, is worth gold. Considering my results in previous weeks, I'm satisfied for now.

Estoy feliz. No puedo estar menos que eso. Volví a Mythic, me mantuve ahí en el evento de fin de semana, y conseguí 13 victorias que, para mí, valen oro. Tomando en cuenta mis resultados en semanas anteriores, por ahora estoy satisfecho.

The deck
In my last post I commented a little bit about the sparse creature deck, which as a replacement has a lot of spells that can do direct damage to the opponent's health. From that deck to this one I didn't make any modifications. I think I'm not exaggerating when I say that it's the best combination I've played with in terms of quality/price.
At times I entertained the idea of adding one more Safeguard Incantation, as well as an All-Seeing Spire, for extra protection and to speed up the flow of cards, however I saved this approach for the days following the WR.
El mazo
En mi último post comenté un poco sobre el deck de escasas criaturas, que en reemplazo tienen un montón de hechizos que pueden hacer daño directo a la vida del rival. De ese deck a este no hice ninguna modificación. Creo que no exagero al decir que es la mejor combinación con la que he jugado en cuanto a calidad/precio.
Por momentos barajé la idea de añadir un Safeguard Incantation más, al igual que un All-Seeing Spire, para protección extra y acelerar el flujo de cartas, sin embargo me guardé este planteamiento para los días siguientes al WR.

The perfonmance
The weekend event was full of magic! Basically half of my participation was magic vs magic; and I'm not exaggerating, I think it's the first time I faced Elyrian so many times; luckily, my deck is thinking to counter other magic compositions, and Heirloom. In the graph below you can see that I faced mages 13 times, then the domains I faced the most were Deception and Nature.
This last one gave me headaches. All of them were aggro, and even though I have several spells to clear the field, the amount of creatures that summon with this deck, at the dawn of the match, is abysmal.

¡El evento de fin de semana estuvo lleno de magia! Básicamente la mitad de mi participación fue magia contra magia; y no exagero, creo que es la primera vez que enfrento a Elyrian tantas veces; por suerte, mi deck está pensando para contrariar a otras composiciones de magia, y Heirloom. En la gráfica de abajo podrán ver que me enfrenté a magos ¡13 veces!, después los dominios a los que más enfrenté fueron Engaño y Naturaleza.
Este último me dio dolores de cabeza. Todos fueron aggro, y a pesar de que tengo varios hechizos para limpiar el campo, la cantidad de criaturas que invocan con este deck, en el alba de la partida, es abismal.
Possible changes
One spell I'd love to add, though I don't know exactly which one I'd replace it with, is Unbound Flames, probably MJ's most destructive card. However this will remain a wish until I win it in a pack.
On the other hand, I missed creatures like Street Conjuror, Miraculous Familiar and City Planner, but I had to make room for spells and I think I chose the best possible creatures.
As I was writing these lines I won an Ekrileth, Spawn of Pendroleth from a Legendary Core pack for reaching lvl 200, so I'll certainly be including it in this and other compositions where I can get a lot of cards in hand. I think my luck is improving.
Posibles cambios
Un hechizo que me encantaría añadir, aunque no sé exactamente por cuál reemplazaría, es Unbound Flames, probablemente la carta más destructva de MJ. No obstante esto quedará como un deseo hasta que no la gane en un pack.
Por otra parte, extrañé criaturas como Street Conjuror, Miraculous Familiar y City Planner, pero tenía que hacer espacio para los hechizos y creo que elegí las mejores criaturas posibles.
Mientras escribía estas líneas gané un Ekrileth, Spawn of Pendroleth de un pack legendario Core por llegar al lvl 200, así que seguramente estaré incluyéndolo en este y otras composiciones en las que pueda tener muchas cartas en la mano. Creo que mi suerte está mejorando.

Is magnetic blast any good? I rarely see armor creatures around.
Surprisingly yes. Against Deception (Armor Lurker), Magic (Labyrinth Guard) and Nature (Aspect of the Pangolin and Giant Pangolin), plus any deck that has the Guild Enforcer is a very useful tool.
