The Eid holiday came to my aid for the Aegean tour, which I had been waiting for the opportunity for a long time. I created a three-day travel plan for a nine-day holiday. In order to avoid congestion on the roads, I set out before the holiday started. My first stop was Ölüdeniz, a small town in Fethiye district in the Aegean region. When we arrived in Ölüdeniz, we managed to catch the sun before it set.

Ölüdeniz is located in Fethiye district of Muğla province of Turkey. I came to this corner of paradise, where you can easily come by land, sea and air, in approximately three and a half hours by road from Antalya. You can arrive by plane from Istanbul and Ankara in one and a half hours by using Dalaman Airport, which is close to the town. We had booked a hotel from a hill where we could clearly see the uniquely colored sea, islands and beach of Ölüdeniz.

Now I understand better why they call the deep blue sea, surrounded by lush green trees, silent and still, exposed to admiring eyes, as Ölüdeniz. Even watching this calm sea, which can withstand even the strongest wind, seems very enjoyable to me. The sea is so bright and clean; You cannot see even a single moss on its surface. I start exploring the town from Ölüdeniz hilltop, where I see beautiful views that look like postcard pictures. I am currently showing pictures with a magnificent view from Turkey's most famous Lycian Way, located at the top of Ölüdeniz. I can say that this is one of the most suitable spots for those who love adventure and enjoy mountain hiking.

Let me briefly talk about the Lycian way here. Then we all go down to the beach together. Coming from the Fethiye road, before going down to Ölüdeniz beach, you enter from where you see the Garsia Hotel sign on the left, and after driving for about ten minutes, you come to the Lycian road. You start walking from the sign that says Lycian Way view hill. The Lycian Way, which starts with a wide dirt road, is followed by ramps, stony roads and narrow rocky roads that we have difficulty walking on. I suggest you be prepared for a very tiring and long journey. Let me state right away. While walking on the dirt road with mountain and sea views, I stopped several times to enjoy the view and take pictures. I can say that I had the great pleasure of walking on a path that dazzled my eyes with beautiful views that I had never seen anywhere else before. We walked some parts of the road together, following a few tour groups that walked this road with us.

There is a legend about where the name Ölüdeniz comes from. According to what is said, in ancient times, Ölüdeniz was a coastline where ships docked to buy water and supplies. The captain of a ship approaching the shore had a handsome son. Approaching the shore, the captain sent his son to the market to buy water and supplies. One day, when the captain's son went to buy water and supplies, he encountered a girl named Belcekız, shining with her beauty. As in many legends, these two beautiful young people fell in love with each other. The captain's son, who did not have much time to satisfy his longing, would go to see his girlfriend from time to time, skipping work and finding various excuses. One day, while they were going to the region, the ship was caught in a storm. His son told the captain that he could be protected from the storm by approaching the shores of Ölüdeniz. However, the captain continued on his way to see his son's girlfriend, thinking that he said so. The young man, who thought that the ship could receive great damage or even break up, objected to his father. The argument between them turned into a fight. The captain threw his son into the sea with one stroke of the oar, and the young man died instantly. The captain, who took over the helm, saw that the storm had passed after his son died and the waters had receded like a sheet. Belcekız, who witnessed all this, committed suicide by throwing herself from the cliffs where she was waiting for her lover. Thus, until today, the place where the captain's son died is called Ölüdeniz, and the place where Belcekız committed suicide is called Belcekız. Source

Even though Ölüdeniz has the appearance of a small town, it makes a name for itself with its uniquely beautiful views. There are two beaches in Ölüdeniz. One of them is a very long sandy beach called Belcekız. The other one is the beach known as Ölüdeniz, which remains calm and serene almost all day long. Ölüdeniz beach is also referred to as Kumburnu beach on promotional boards. There are many businesses and restaurants by the beach. The beach also attracts attention with its white sand and historical ruins hidden in nature. You can find many five-star hotels, hostels and aparthotels in the town. One of the best activities you can do in Ölüdeniz is Paragliding. You can find delicacies that suit your taste in beautiful establishments by the beach.

Uzun zamandır fırsatını kolladığım Ege turu için, bayram tatili yardımıma yetişmişti. Dokuz günlük tatil için üç günlük gezi planı oluşturdum. Yollarda yoğunluk yaşamamak için, bayram tatili başlamadan önce yola çıktım. İlk durağım, Eğe bölgesindeki Fethiye ilçesinin küçük bir kasabası olan Ölüdeniz oldu. Ölüdeniz'e vardığımızda güneşi batmadan yakalamayı başarmıştık.

Ölüdeniz, Türkiye'nin Muğla ilinin, Fethiye ilçesinde yer almaktadır. Kara, deniz ve havayoluyla çok rahatlıkla gelebileceğiniz bu cennet köşesine, ben Antalya'dan kara yolu ile yaklaşık, üç buçuk saatte geldim. Beldeye yakın olan Dalaman Havaalanını kullanarak, İstanbul ve Ankara'dan uçak ile bir buçuk saatte gelebilirsiniz. Ölüdeniz'in o benzersiz renkteki denizini, adalarını ve plajını net bir şekilde görebileceğimiz bir tepeden otel ayarlamıştık.

Yemyeşil ağaçlarının arasında, sessiz ve durgun bir şekilde hayran hayran bakan gözlere maruz kalan masmavi denize neden Ölüdeniz dediklerini şimdi daha iyi anlıyorum. En şiddetli rüzgara bile göğüs gerebilen bu sakin denizi izlemek bile bana çok keyifli geliyor. Deniz o kadar parlak ve temiz ki; yüzeyinde tek bir yosun bile göremezsiniz. Şu anda Ölüdeniz'in tepe noktasında bulunan Türkiye'nin en meşhur Likya yolundan enfes manzaralı resimlerini gösteriyorum. Macerayı seven ve dağ yürüyüşünden keyif alanlar için, buranın en uygun noktalardan biri olduğunu söyleyebilirim.

Buradaki Likya yolundan kısaca bahsedeyim. Sonra hep birlikte sahile doğru ineriz. Fethiye yolundan gelirken, Ölüdeniz sahiline inmeden önce, sol tarafta Garsia Hotel tabelasını gördüğünüz yerden giriş yaparak, araçla yaklaşık on dakika ilerledikten sonra, Likya yoluna geliyorsunuz. Likya yolu manzara tepesi olarak yazılan tabeladan yürümeye başlıyorsunuz. Geniş topraklı yolla başlayan Likya yolunu, rampalar, taşlı yollar ve yürümekte güçlük çektiğimiz dar kayalı yollar takip ediyor. Oldukça yorucu ve uzun bir yola hazırlıklı olun derim. Hemen belirteyim. Dağ ve deniz manzaralı topraklı yolda yürürken manzaranın tadını çıkarmak ve resmini çekmek için defalarca durdum. Şimdiye kadar hiçbir yerde göremediğim gözlerimi kamaştıran güzel manzaraları bir yolda yürümenin keyfini fazlasıyla yaşadım, diyebilirim. Bizimle beraber bu yolu yürüyen bir kaç tur grubunun da arkasına takılarak, yolun bazı bölümlerini birlikte yürüdük.

Ölüdeniz isminin nerden geldiğiyle ilgili bir efsane var. Anlatılanlara göre, çok eski zamanlarda Ölüdeniz, gemilerin su ve erzak alımı için yanaştığı bir kıyı şeridiymiş. Kıyıya yanaşan bir geminin kaptanının yakışıklı bir oğlu varmış. Kıyıya yanaşan kaptan, su ve erzak alımı için oğlunu çarşıya gönderirmiş. Bir gün kaptanın oğlu su ve erzak alımına gittiğinde, Belcekız isminde güzelliğiyle parıldayan bir kızla karşılaşmış. Pek çok efsanede olduğu gibi bu iki güzel genç birbirine aşık olmuş. Hasret gidermeye pek zaman bulamayan kaptanın oğlu, zaman zaman işten kaytararak ve çeşitli bahaneler bularak, sevgilisini görmeye gidiyormuş. Yine günlerden bir gün bölgeye giderlerken gemi fırtınaya yakalanmış. Oğlu kaptana, Ölüdeniz kıyılarına yanaşarak fırtınadan korunabileceğini söylemiş. Ancak kaptan oğlunun sevgilisini görmek için, böyle söylediğini düşünerek yoluna devam etmiş. Geminin büyük hasar alabileceğini hatta parçalanabileceğini düşünen delikanlı babasına itirazlarda bulunmuş. Aralarındaki tartışma kavgaya dönüşmüş. Kaptan, oğlunu bir kürek darbesiyle denize atmış, delikanlı o anda hayatını kaybetmiş. Dümenin başına geçen kaptan, oğlunun ölmesiyle fırtınanın dindiğini ve suların adete bir çarşaf gibi çekildiğini görmüş. Tüm bu olanlara şahit olan Belcekız, kendisini sevgilisini beklediği kayalıklardan atarak intihar etmiş. Böylelikle günümüze kadar, kaptanın oğlunun öldüğü yere, Ölüdeniz, Belcekız'ın intihar ettiği yere de Belcekız adını vermişler. Kaynak

Ölüdeniz, küçük bir kasaba görünümüne sahip olsa da, içine sığdırdığı eşsiz güzel manzaralarıyla adından çok ettiriyor. Ölüdeniz de iki tane sahil kenarı var. Bunlardan biri, Belcekız adını verdikleri oldukça uzun bir kumu olan plajdır. Diğeri ise, Ölüdeniz olarak bilinen neredeyse tüm gün durgun ve sakin bir şekilde bekleyen plajdır. Ölüdeniz plajı, tanıtım panolarında, Kumburnu plajı olarak da geçiyor. Sahil kenarında bir çok işletme ve restoran var. Plajın bembeyaz kumu ve doğanın içine gizlenmiş tarihi kalıntılarıyla da dikkat çekiyor. Kasabada çok sayıda beş yıldızlı otel, pansiyon ve apart otel bulabilirsiniz. Ölüdeniz'de yapabileceğiniz en güzel aktivitelerden biri de Yamaç Paraşütüdür. Sahil kenarında, birbirinden güzel işletmelerde, damak tadınıza uygun lezzetler bulabilirsiniz.
