¡ Hola, amigos de Hive !

En esta ocasión los estoy saludando desde la Comunidad HiveDiy. No es la primera vez que he publicado aquí, pero admito que pocas veces lo hecho. Sin embargo, les cuento que tengo varias cosillas que he realizado, pero digamos que por falta de tiempo o disposición no las muestro en mi blog. Como sea, reconozco que no comparto con frecuencia esa otra parte creativa de mí y recientemente me he propuesto a guardar fotos de mis trabajos artesanales con sus procesos de elaboración para poder compartirlos en hive.

En este momento les quiero mostrar un adorno navideño que realicé. Particularmente, me gusta pensar en opciones accesibles para que todos tengan la oportunidad de hacerlo en casa ya sea para sí mismos, para dar un hermoso presente o para iniciar un emprendimiento en una época que mueve masas y emociones por la celebración de la navidad.

Así que en me decidí a retomar mis implementos para hacer manualidades y me dispuse a hacer este adorno de navidad con materiales fáciles de conseguir y también sencillo de hacer inspirado en un gnomo pero que yo lo relaciono más con Santa Claus. Debo decir que este trabajo es el resultado luego de ver muchos videos lindos en YouTube y Pinterest con infinidad de ideas que podemos poner en práctica dándoles nuestro toque personal gracias a la creatividad que nos asiste a cada quien. Al final de esta publicación dejaré uno de los videos que me inspiró.

This time, I'm greeting you from the HiveDiy Community. It's not the first time I've posted here, but I admit that I rarely do so. However, I have several things that I've made, but let's just say that due to lack of time or inclination, I don't show them on my blog. Anyway, I recognize that I don't often share that other creative side of myself, and I've recently decided to save photos of my crafts and their creation processes so I can share them on Hive.
Right now, I want to show you a Christmas decoration I made. I particularly like to think of accessible options so that everyone has the opportunity to make it at home, whether for themselves, to give as a beautiful gift, or to start a business at a time of year that moves masses and emotions for the celebration of Christmas.
So, I decided to pick up my craft supplies again and set out to make this Christmas ornament with easy-to-find materials. It's simple to make and inspired by a gnome, but I associate it more with Santa Claus. I must say that this project is the result of watching many cute videos on YouTube and Pinterest with countless ideas that we can put into practice, giving them our personal touch thanks to the creativity that each of us possesses. At the end of this post, I will leave one of the videos that inspired me.

Aquí les escribo la lista de materiales que usé:

• Tubo de cartón (Yo usé el que trae el papel higiénico)
• Tijera
• Regla
• Lápiz
• Lana escolar roja, negra y blanca
• Hilo dorado
• Herramienta para deshilachar
• Botón dorado
• Barrita de silicón.
• Pistola para silicón.
• Fibra siliconada (Relleno)

Ya con los materiales ubicados, procedo a la presentación del paso a paso:

Procedimiento

Paso 1

Empiezo haciendo el gorrito de mi gnomo.
Con la regla y el lápiz maqué espacios de 2.5 centímetros de ancho en el tubo de cartón y tracé líneas guías para luego recortar por allí para tener cuatro aros de cortón. De los cuales solo usaré uno para esta publicación.

Now that I have all the materials ready, I will proceed with the step-by-step instructions:

Procedure
Step 1
I start by making my gnome's hat.
Using a ruler and pencil, I marked 2.5-centimeter-wide spaces on the cardboard tube and drew guide lines so I could then cut along them to make four cardboard rings. I will only use one of them for this post.

Paso 2

Tomé la lana de color rojo y mi regla de 25 cm. Le di 20 vueltas completas a la regla con la lana. Luego la corté en uno de los extremos y después en el otro.
Repetí el procedimiento con la lana negra.

Step 2
I took the red yarn and my 10-inch ruler. I wrapped the yarn around the ruler 20 times. Then I cut it at one end and then at the other.
I repeated the process with the black yarn.

Paso 3

Empiezo a hacer un tipo de tejido con las tiras de lana sobre uno de los aros de cartón. Se hace un nudo muy sencillo y fácil como ves en las fotos hasta forrar todo el aro.
Empiezo con la lana de color rojo para que vean como se hace.

Step 3
I start weaving the wool strips onto one of the cardboard rings. I make a very simple knot, as you can see in the photos, until the whole ring is covered.
I start with red wool so you can see how it's done.

Así voy envolviendo el aro de cartón, alternando consecutivamente la lana roja y negra. En lo particular elegí hacer una secuencia de cuatro tiras rojas y cuatro negras hasta envolver todo el aro.

I wrap the cardboard ring, alternating red and black wool consecutively. I chose to do a sequence of four red strips and four black strips until the entire ring is wrapped.

Paso 4

Los extremos de la lana los pasé por dentro del aro hacia la dirección contraria.

Step 4
I passed the ends of the wool through the hoop in the opposite direction.

Paso 5

En este paso tomé hilo dorado para hacer el asa que le pondré a mi adorno, verán como lo paso por entre la lana o estambre y luego verán como lo enlazo junto a los extremos de lana con un trozo de lana negra.

Step 5
In this step, I used gold thread to make the handle for my ornament. You will see how I thread it through the wool or yarn and then tie it together with the ends of the wool using a piece of black wool.

Paso 6

Le pongo un poco de silicón caliente para fijar el asa dorada y la bolita de relleno que le voy a colocar para darle volumen al gorrito.

Step 6
I apply a little hot silicone to secure the gold handle and the small filling ball that I am going to place on it to give the hat some volume.

Paso 7

Emparejo con la tijera el flequillo del gorrito y luego con la herramienta para deshilachar empiezo a separar las tiras de lana dándole una apariencia más rizada y alborotada.

Step 7
I trim the fringe of the hat with scissors and then use the fraying tool to separate the strips of wool, giving it a curlier, messier look.

Paso 8

Ahora voy hacer la barba que será también la cara de mi gnomo.
Para este paso es el turno de la lana blanca, la cual enrollo en mi mano, dando 40 vueltas como verán en las fotos.

Step 8
Now I'm going to make the beard, which will also be my gnome's face.
For this step, it's time to use the white wool, which I roll up in my hand, giving it 40 turns, as you can see in the photos.

Saco de mi mano el rollo que hice de lana y con una tira la amarro por el medio.

I take the roll of wool I made out of my hand and tie it in the middle with a strip.

Luego con la tijera hago un corte en los extremos.

Then I use scissors to make a cut at the ends.

Paso 9

Con silicón caliente uno la lana blanca al gorrito. Luego con la tijera emparejo y le doy forma redondeada a la lana.

Step 9
Using hot silicone, attach the white wool to the hat. Then use scissors to trim and shape the wool into a rounded shape.

Agarro la herramienta para deshilachar y empiezo a separar las tiras de lana, ya saben para una apariencia más rizada.

I grab the fraying tool and start separating the strips of wool, you know, for a curlier look.

Paso 10

Voy con el toque final.
Ahora es el turno del botón dorado al que le pongo silicón caliente para pegarlo en la lana blanca al borde del gorrito.

Step 10
Now for the finishing touch.
It's time for the gold button, which I attach to the white wool at the edge of the hat using hot glue.

Listo / Ready 😊

Este adorno se puede colgar en cualquier parte. Viste lo sencillo de hacerlo y como yo puedes hacer este adorno navideño. Recuerda que siempre puedes ponerle tu toque personal, ya sea usando estos u otros colores. En mi caso, ya he realizado varios, pero hoy te presenté este lindo diseño con colores típicos de esta época.
