Yay! come and look who we found.

Harry himself was parading with their youngsters.
088.jpg

A proud warrior parading his new young tribe through the premises.

I had to go to the hospital for X-Rays and scans of my knee and afterwards we found this lot in the hospital premises.
We knew that Sally was on the nest for the past weeks, as Harry hung around here every day and Sally only came to eat early morning and late affternoon.
Sally flew off in the hospital's direction every day after she ate in our garden, but we never expected to see the gosslings as their previous babies were all lost to predators.

7 of them out of the normal 12 is not bad and soon these little ones will fly.
090.jpg

But first a lay in the shade to relax a little bit after their long walk.
092.jpg

Check that leg stretch of the little one at the right.
094.jpg

Here's another leg stretcher in the heat.
095.jpg

But oh! Here's the best leg stretch with a poop hahaha.
096.jpg

Harry let out a honk and he said, "right guys, let's get you guys home".
099.jpg

And there they disappeared into a tunnel that was built over the river.

Really a wonderful experience to see them and it was as if they only did that parade for us. I don't know what happened to the other 5, but 7 is a better number for Harry to protect.
I call Harry a warrior as I have seen him in fights against crows and the Harrier hawks and even the cats are dead scared of Harry here.

Finally, here's Harry eating in our garden right now.

Wonderful to have the Egyptian geese (Alopochen aegyptiaca) around.

What a beautiful and entertaining family to follow on their adventures ..! 😊 7 on 12 is a nice rate at least, I wish them safety and good food 😉

Thank you and they deserve it as the first nest was here at our place and there are too many predators here, so they selected the hospital for the second try and there is tight security there day and night.
We are happy for them.

Thank you Dr. Nicky and we hope that thigs are also good at your end.

Harry and Sally have now been with us for just over 2 years.

Having a great struggle with the costs for a knee replacement, as that is the only cure, so we don't know yet if it's going to happen.

Take care my friend.

These are great news Zac, I remember that you said that Sally would have more babies, but then I forgot about it. They are almost grown up and I hope that they are safe now, at least as long as Harry is around.

Thank you Hannes and I said in a reply elsewhere that they deserve it.
Soon the gosslings will be able to fly and hopefully they will be a big family this time.

Harry is on the ball this time round and at the hospital there is very tight security and best of all, there are no stray cats.

Cheers and thanks.

Oh yes, 9 sounds like a big family and I hope that Harry will do his job good. It seems that Harry and Sally know why they have chosen the hospital area 👍😀

Yes, they certainly have strange ways as at a dam near the sea we saw that several geese families were living together and there were more than 15 youngsters all feediding and playing together. I think one can call them a colony and there is plenty of space for the youngsters to stay until they are adults.

But Harry and Sally Smith are like us and they rather stay on ther own. I have never seen any other geese come to eat here as Harry is the king of his own territory.
Now he was clever enough to include the hospital in his area and no other goose will go there.

Cheers and thanks.

Right, some animals like to be with others and there's certainly more safety for the kids because of more adults, but some are different and prefer to be alone, although their kids grow up under high risk.
I bet Harry would be the strongest and the King if they would move to the colony, but they love their dangerous freedom of living alone.

!BEER and !PIZZA - nice 😃

We do have such a case right now Hannes.
The parents in one family remain reclusive and it affects the children, which is never a good thing as children must be out to play with other children.

We also live much like Harry, as we like to do our own thing when we are not at work. I invited a guy here in the complex to come indside and have a look at some cracks in the walls that I need to fix.
His first words when he entered the lounge was. "Why is your place so empty"?

We only have two couches and a bookshelf in the lounge because we need the space to pack food parcels and big bags of donated clothing for distribution in the poor areas.
So, I did not answer him.

Cheers and thanks.

Kids need other kids, that's right. If they are only inside with their parents they might become even worse.

2 couches? We have only one 😁
