Waiting for the Flamingos to arrive.

Summer is on its way and soon this place will be full of flamingos.

An Ibis Hadeda (Bostrychia hagedash) was landing here on the shore of the lake.

We visited this place before, but could gain no entry as it was all fenced, but today I was in luck, as somebody had left a gate open.
A part of land that used to belong to an arms manufacturer, state owned company, was released for public use and the heritage buildings were converted into private business offices.
So security is strict, but of course we presented no threat.
I searched the area for the best place to take photos, as my camera loves flamingo birds.

Not much shade to leave the car under those short palm trees hahaha.

No, there were no flamingos, as they are due to arrive soon when our summer season starts.
But I got a Blacksmith Lapwing (Vanellus armatus)

Oh and of course I had to get the sun behind the head of one of those high palm trees.

The water was very choppy due to a strong wind flowing in from the east toward the ocean.
But I had some more luck, as there was a mother Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) wanting to show me her little goslings.

Only seven goslings left and so the predators must have been very busy here again.

A lovely place indeed and I look foward to getting the flamingos here when they arrive.

There are also many other bird species that come here in the summer and I saw a plan that indicates the future ammenity developments that will take place here. A Restaurant and information center, some bird hides and jettys, picnic sites and a few other things for use by the general public.

I like the place as natural as it is now and wild birds don't like noisy crowds, so I suppose the place will transform into one of those popular "waterfronts" where stalls will be erected for the vendors.
Maybe not and one can only hope that they will leave it as natural as possible.
We shall see.

And That's All Friends.

you are very lucky to have this opportunity because you have been given a fence for a long time, at this time the fence is open and you can take some photos. This photo is very interesting, I saw the photo as if I went directly to the place.
