Today the hottest place in the world.

The Western Cape Province is hotter today than the Sahara Desert.

Our little guy "Troy" had no energy in the heat and he was passed out for most of the day.

The Western Cape Province is in South Africa and for some strange reason we were even hotter than Australia and the other South African countries.
Our fire fighting crews are all on emergency standby for expected wild fires, but thankfully the strong winds were absent.

The Australian Outback. The Sahara Desert. Even the scorching plains of the Middle East: All of these locations will seem like a comparative oasis for residents in the Western Cape on Saturday 22 January…

Only a few cars on the roads in town, but that's because everyone and their families were at the beach.
So we decided to take a short drive down to the beach.

Oh yes, the hot African sun turned the sea into a big silver mirror and the beaches were packed with people. Now to spend a day in this heat on the beaches can result in some serious issues, such as sunstroke and no doubt tomorrow we will read about many cases of sunstroke the hospitals had to treat tonight.

073.JPG

We then took the road home bound again and I took the two photos below on the way back. Yes, we could only get out to take this trip in the late afternoon when the peak of the heat was subsiding. Even then we had the air-conditioner in the car on full blast.
Still even now when I am typing this, there is some sweat on my brow.

The Elephant whispered to me; Phew, they didn't tell me that it would get this hot when I signed the contract to stand out here all day.
076.JPG

Back home the two birds (Speckled Pigeons)turned the birdbath into a personal sauna, but after a while the leader of the Ringneck doves had enough and here below he came to tell the pair to get going.

The Ringneck dove's wife arrived with her small Turtle dove companion and the Speckled Pigeons knew that the writing was on the wall to get out.

Then an amazing thing happened as believe it or not, a fine drizzle of rain came down. For a full 5 minutes rain water drizzled down

Finally the red blushing mountains also attested to the heat at sunset.

Western Cape set for ‘extreme heat’
That’s because temperatures are guaranteed to soar to unbearable levels. In fact, new data released on Friday shows the province is likely to be ‘the hottest place on Earth’ tomorrow, with the mercury surpassing 46C in some parts.
Ventusky, a weather forecasting tool used to predict weather patterns in South Africa, has a colour-coded system for determining how high the temperature will be, in every location worldwide. A quick glance at their map for this weekend shows that NOWHERE has a darker shade than the Western Cape.
Western Cape will be ‘hottest place on Earth’ this Saturday

Here is the source of all in Italics in the post for you read more;
Source

So these were not my own words and nothing was sucked out of my thumb, as the source was where I found the reason for this heat.
Stand for an hour outside in the sun and then your hot breath will melt an ice cream.
And that's it for now folks, just another hot day on the Southern tip of the African continent.
We hope that you enjoyed the photos and the story.

On the contaray, we have snow now after the cold days for more than one week. They say it will snow for about one week. It is nice to see two different weather conditions in different hemispheres of the Earth.

Oh man, that's hotter than I can imagine. I do hope that you can shelter yourself and stay inside where the sun can't reach you. Drink a lot and try to stay cool, but you know that better than me anyway.

Thank you for the care my friend and yes we finish 8 bottles of cold water every day.
The great difficulty is to sleep at night in a 30C temperature.
I am sure that I am losing weight in my sleep 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Hahaha, I want to invent a machine that can collect all of the sweat off people during the heat.
There are tons of salt in collective human sweat and the machine must collect the salt.

Then I will put the salt into little salt pots and call it "Zac's Slimming Salts" 🤣🤣🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Dear, God! We are going through a serious heat wave in southern Brazil too. Often we have to stop working at the ranch because it's unbearable. How's Covid thing is SA? I don't watch TV anymore so...

Sorry to hear about your heatwave and yes SA is burning hot.
Covid created much damages here, but thankfully it is slowly leaving us.
We also don't have a TV and I only read the news on my PC.

Cheers, thanks for the beer.

Yeah, what I've heard from SA is that Covid is descalating now, as Brazil is raising. They say Omicron could be the start of an end. Let's pray.
