So much beauty in life.

Let us not walk around blinded to the wonderful sights that surround us.

Come, let's see what we can find in here.

A happy Friday to all and we came out with the idea to take some lovely landscape shots. It was a hot day at 35C, but thankfully there were nice shady spots under the trees to avoid the sun. As we walked down this road, I heard a familiar sound and we decided to investigate. So, we found a hole in the dense foliage fence at the right hand of the road and walked through the fence to the other side.
Camera ready as I knew that the sound was close by, I stopped in my tracks when I saw the sound sipping on a flower.
Come and look.

This was the sound that I heard and it's the famous Southern Double-collared Sunbird (Cinnyris Chalybeus).
Amazing how the red collar on his chest matched the color of the flower.

And there was the song that made him famous. Although he is the smallest of the sunbirds, he holds the title as the best singer.

He was done with the red flower and on his way, but he gave me a split second shot of song on this tubular like flower before he was gone.

Thankfully there were other sights close by and we moved to small dam to check on the goose youngsters.
Mom and dad came cruising over past the water fountain.

And yay, the 4 youngsters also seemed to be fine. They are the survivors as I think there were 7 babies.

Back out in the open again, I saw the sunbird's wife sitting and meditating at the top of a tree.

We must have disturbed her seance, as she took off in a huff.
106.JPG

And finally, look what popped in for a drink outside our study window.

Hello Zac, hope that I am not disturbing you, as you put this bottle out for us. I have my bird rights you know.

It was a little Cape White-eye (Zosterops virens).

So, just a bit of birdlife and colors to hopefully brighten everyone's Fridays.
Tiny birds, except for the geese, but the small birds beat the geese by a mile with their colors and song. I also realize that each bird in nature regardless of color and song, forms a combined purpose in nature. The insect eaters save us from many pests and the seed eaters plant many flowers and trees.

Talking about the seed eaters, yesterday we sat under a tree and 3 starlings decided to join us in the top of the tree. One starling decided that he liked my wife very much and he blessed her with a poop on the arm of her jacket :)
It was while she was wiping the blessing off her arm, that she discovered two small seeds of a nearby tree, in the content of the poop. She brought the two seeds home and now they are planted in a pot. It is reckoned that when a seed passes through the gestation system of an animal or a bird, then it is best prepared for planting.
Nature is indeed wonderful.

I hope that you enjoyed the sights and the story.

And That's All Friends.

Thank you and we are in late summer now, so all of the colors have grown richer. Soon fall will arrive and then the yellows, reds and browns will make an appearance.
I am happy that you liked my work.

There were lot of wonderful things or I mean creations around. We just find them to enjoy their beauty as our Creator created them for us to enjoy.

Thanks for sharing these lovely photos of the wonderful creation of God to us. Oh I love those four lovely friends swimming.

Oh yes, and I keep on being astounded by the wonderful works of our Creator.

My pleasure as always to share my passion for nature. Mankind is fast eroding it in the hunt for profits and soon there may be nothing left for the future generations to see.
We have been monitoring them since they were born and yes, they turned out beautiful.

What a delightful post!😊

The coloring of the male Southern Double-Collared Sunbird is remarkable. I'm especially mesmerized by the sheen of the emerald green and sapphire blue against his black feathers. He's like a huge hummingbird that stops to perch for photo ops!

Do keep us posted on the progress of the growth of seeds that were Lady Marian's "gifts!" 🌱💩💧

Have a terrfic weekend, Sir Stephen! @papilloncharity 🌙🔆💫

Ah, the dear Cybermon popped in at my post. I hope that you are well Lady Nina.

Yes, you have a great description of that little guy's colors and I try my best to get them on camera every year. Once that you have heard their twinkling song notes, you will also be hooked.
I will make sure to tag you when the seeds start to sprout.

May you also have a great weekend and all of the best to you! @ninahaskin
