High up at the beach.

Visiting a friend at the top floor of a high-rise building.

It is summer here in the Cape and a friend invited me as he is also a photographer.

Mike the Greek is a lifelong friend that also migrated down from the north of the country to the Cape a few months after we did 3 years ago.
He has a good eye and called me yesterday to say that he had a great view of the ocean. So without any ado we joined him, as for a long time I was wishing to get up on one of the beachfront buildings. Unfortunately we cannot afford an apartment up there as it is too expensive for us.
Come and have a look.

Now would this curtained window view in the apartment not turn any photographer on?

So, I opened the window and there it was waiting for me.

Hola, the sun said good night to me on it's way down.

Now who could resist a challenge like this?
That little boat challenged my zoom.

Bang! There he was on the ocean on my zoom.

In the meantime I kept an eye on the sun.

There was a lone fisherman out there.

And a guy was giving his dogs a run on the beach.

By now the sun sat between two lines of clouds.

And finally the sun slowly sunk down behind the mountain.

It was over and a last glow hovered on the horizon.

Lights started popping on along the beachfront.

And finally night started to set in.

So yes, it was a wonderful opportunity to get up high and in between chatting, coffee and cake to take some great photos. Sadly the wind was still up in force and it screamed through the passages of the apartments, but the sad thing is that there were no birds.
I would really love to be up there on a clear and windless night, but it is not to be.
Such is life and I hope that you have enjoyed the post.

I have always thought that the sight of a good sunrise transmits calm, happiness and improves our mood, whether in the evening or in the morning. That combination of colors is wonderful and it is much better when you are with another person and we can have a quiet conversation, talking about anything.

We can also look at each person's lifestyle, some use that time for their hobbies, others for exercise, etc. I love that time of the day, I feel like I can do anything.

Thank you and oh yes, to feel the white sand massing your feet as you stroll ib the shallows have no comparison. A time of friendship and serenity of the soul.
You are also right as many have different activities during the end of the day on the beach.
In my case I just feel a great peace within during these times.

Did you take all the photography from your friend's floor? It is a pleasure to travel by small boat floating in the sea water. But I like the pictures of the sunset the most. Of course, all the photography has been great.

Thank you and yes, I took all of the photos from up there on my zoom.

The guys in the boat are fishermen and they were on the way out into the deep to go and catch fish during the night.
I also love the sunset photos.

Thank you and no, I don't have to move there as it is close to us. The problem of living down there is the strong wind.
So I am happy to just pop down there occasionally.

Not totally away from the wind, as it still also hits us, but thankfully not with the same force as down at the coast. Those houses feel the full force of the wind.

Living on th etop floor would be great - nobody above you who can see what you're eating or drinking or ... 😉

I knew the sunset photos will be good - nice golden sunset, just as expected, and the view from up there is great. If I would live there I would need a better telezoom lens for sure. Your zoom is amazing.

Ha, you don't want to be on the top floor in this screaming wind my friend. When I stood outside, I could not even hear myself speak 🤣
Mind you the wind can give a great rhythm beat for your or ... !LOLZ

Thank you and as you know, I like to challenge myself with the zoom. It gets a bit dicey at times, as I shoot free hand but 3 clicks of any target normally delivers at least one good shot.
Such is life from a top floor my friend 🤣

That's what I also do when I shoot with the zoom, fast shots one after the other and one or two are always reasonable sharp.

I still would love to live that high up and overlook all the others - just like viewing down from a mountain :)

Hahaha, I prefer to remain blissfully innocent and I will answer your ...or in my reply to the last sentence in your reply, as it will fit in better there 😘

Oh yes, I find that 3 shots at a target works very well for me. Free hand shooting is easy when the target is close, but the further that I extend the zoom, the more difficult it gets.
I hold my breath when I take the long shots to keep my hands steady and sometimes when Marian is close, she bumps me to tell me to breathe again 🤣

Now here's where you beloved ...or fits in. To be high up means that one can see other apartments below. I saw a lady without a shirt on lower down closing the curtains. Luckily she had a bra on and I think that I would have fainted if she looked up and smiled at me 🤣🤣🤣!LOLZ

Ps. Now I didn't really see a lady down there, but just a tease to get your ...or mind racing 😲

I breath slowly and when I press the shutter button I breath ou, so there's no danger of forgetting to breath because I have seldom someone with me to remind me to breath again 😂 !LOLZ

But there is a twist in your tale, the lady without the bra told the medics that you were watching her and then you jumped down to land on her balcony. She said that only a mad man would jump from such a height.
So yes, you ended up in hospital, but it is a mental hospital and to prevent you from doing anything, they chained you to the bed in your straight jacket.
One great thing is that the nurse is a retired stripper, but she is 68 years old and has a beard.
I don't think that you will enjoy your single room and no and ... 🤣

Thank you for your appreciation of my post.
We are blessed, as we live a short distance from the sea and also a short distance from the mountains.
So we have the best of both worlds as it is about a 20 minutes drive to either of them.
Nature is abounding here and the ocean means life to me.
