An unexpected gift from Mother nature.

So she unrolled the garden water hose and felt something on her hand.
285.jpg

Running up the back of her hand onto her jacketed arm. A Little Dwarf Gecko.

So come and watch the fun here with a woman and a gecko in the garden.
I have to upload the post early as we have a lot of work today and I have to fit things in wherever I can. It was a pleasant surprise for Marian and she came to the study window to show me her surprise.
Come and look.

The little gecko sat there thinking if it should take a ride on her arm.
It is a Cape Dwarf Gecko (Lygodactylus capensis)
But it might also be a another type of gecko as this one has no stripes on it's flanks.
292.jpg

Oh no, Marian saw that I had the camera and started to protest.
295.jpg

But I only told her that the gecko was an aspirant model and she wanted the world to see her beauty. The gecko knows that I am on Hive Lol.
296.jpg

Whoops! The little one ran up over her shoulder into her jacket's hoodie.
So I told her to take the jacket off slowly next to the Jasmine bush.
299.jpg

Quite a slow process so as not to scare the little one, as it could be a high jump and it could get hurt.
302.jpg

For a last minute the gecko posed before it jumped across into the bush.
She wanted to make sure that ya all could see her lithe body hahaha.
305.jpg

And there you have it, a lovely early morning surprise. So first it was a baby mole, then a live frog in the bathroom and now a gecko.
You should have seen Marian's face when I told her the next one would be a Puff Adder snake hahaha.
It is not only the squirrels and the birds that keep us busy here, as the area is crawling with nature's residents.
We hope that you enjoyed the post.

And That's All Friends!

Thank you Hannes and yes, we like to enjoy the small things in life.
They say that if a person can enjoy the small things, then they can also know how to enjoy the bigger things, such as true friendship.

Blessings to you guys.

All my pleasure Zac 😃

That's certainly true, if you can ernjoy the small things that life and Mother Nature offer, then you can certainly enjoy all other things too. The small things matter, and many small things can be one big thing in the end.

Makes much sense to me Hannes.
A man sold big items at very high prices and another man sold small things at very low prices. Who wins?
The man with the big things sold only 10 items and the man with the small things sold 1 miliion.
A simple explanation that was given to me many years by an old man selling coal with a Donkey cart.

Another Chinese friend told me that he paid 3 bucks for a new shirt when he ordered a container load of shirts. Then he sold the shirts for 15 bucks each that was less than the maket price of the shirts.
And he was regularly sold out.

So yes, one should never underestimate the value of small things.

Cheers and thanks.

That's the way many Ebay sellers make their money - they buy cheap China products and sell them at a much higher price that is still a lot cheaper than regular prices. The buyers save money and are happy, but the quality of the products is often not the best.

Oh yes, the locals have a saing "Goedkoop is duurkoop" (Bargains are expensive) as they never last.
I get my shirts from a charity shop and I always look for the European labels.

Much money can be made with low quality cheapies here, as so many people are unemployed and poor. The traders know that.

Cheers and thanks.

It's the same here Zac, the cheap things sell very well. I think we have been talking about the value of these cheap things before. The other things might be more expensive, but quality has its price.

I like the view of the area. The picture are sharp and beautiful. Please don't scare Mariam with the adder snake joke. I like the originality of your post.

Appears it must be the week of the Gecko, I have a young one taking residence in the kitchen at the moment, everyone has been warned to watch out for the little guy who comes out periodically day and night.

Marian is looking well, very happy with all her friends around, have a great evening soon the bats arrive again.

Great that you guys are taking care of the little gecko Lady Joan.

Yes Marian is happy with her zoo, but tonight she was in tears as the young Rock pigeon fips over backwards in the rescue cage. I felt her neck and there's a weird crick in it so tomorrow we will take her to the vet.

Managed one photo of the gecko, now he is shy and retreats under the microwave, he will with time be more adventurous.

Rock pigeon with damaged neck may have flown into a window, hope nothing too severe!

Patience Lady Joan and you will get him. Drop some small flies in front of the microwave hahaha.

She was put down by the vet today, as she flew into an electric fence here.

Oh yes and in the process he will rid your kitchen of bugs methinks.
Yep, I made the best decision that I could for her, as the vet said that she was suffering.

Oh yes, they love the mozzies and flies also stand no chance against them.
We had a gecko that had babies in our bookshelf last year. Tiny little things that were crawling all over the place.

Hahaha, Saturday loadshedding notice and nothing happened. Sunday again a notice and nothing.
So today we ignored the notice and bang, in thec middle of my second post the PC switched off.

Lost it all and had to battle to restart this old machine when the power returned at 6:30pm.
Such an irritation.

We been down everyday, weekend I played a card game with the sons on Saturday night something not done in many years! Was good fun 😂 especially in the dark with torches!

Yesterday and today during the daytime which takes much of your day away, so housekeeping is being caught up with once again! Very productive South African 🙃
