A thank you breakfast.

Campaign against violence to women and children.
261.jpg

Now who in their right mind would hurt a woman or a child?
And yet it happens every day and night here.

We were invited to attend a thank you breakfast early this morning as the theme was to honor those that stand at the front of the fight against violence to women and children.
My theme today is that nature teaches us how to protect our children.

This was the entrance to the farm where the breakfast was held.
075.jpg

This parking area would soon be filled with cars, as we have the habit of arriving early at events.
089.jpg

What a lovely old farm house and it felt like a crowd of witnesses of the past were swirling around here.
109.jpg

The battle troops started to arrive and soon the room was filled.
129.jpg

Some serious talks were soon active and the great thing was that every soul in the the room was of the same mind.

Old soldiers and old friends, as Marian was hugging a good friend here.
170_li.jpg

A hearty breakfast was served to the 50 attendants and I know that it is not many people, but our small army can climb big mountains in the battle against violence.
181.jpg

Since the beginning of time older than these mountains women and children were regarded as inferior and it remains a severe struggle to change this mindset even now in modern times.
062.jpg

The parent was not far away from his youngster in the first picture and here he sat to keep an eye on the skies for the danger of raptor birds.
216.jpg

A cat or a dog will never throw their litters away. They will defend their small children with their lives. When baboons have babies they are known to be very dangerous to any strangers in order to protect their babies.
And yet at a time up north Papillon had a project that supported 1500 orphans.

We also supported a Non-Profit called "A Hole in the Wall" where mothers who didn't want their babies could anonymously place their babies in the hole, ring a bell and then the baby would be fetched by staff at the other side of the wall.
This is us and we call ourselves people. Some of us burn our children with cigarettes when they are naughty. Others maim their wives and their children, yet others will kill their families.
So, it is up to us to do all that we can to stop this insanity.

We are indeed thankful to be honored for what we do in the protection fields, but we are only a drop in the ocean and we are fighting a massive monster.

And That's All Friends!

That first photo!! WOW. Love it. One of my favourites of your feathered friend photos @papilloncharity

As for the analogy, it is a good one. I am amazed watching my livestock how aggressive a usually tame sheep will be to protect her babies

Thank you kindly milady and glad that you liked the photo.

Yes, you know exactly what I am talking about and that's why I regard everyone at that breakfast today as real heroes. I never had a father and because he was violent and my mom moved off the farm to take us to the city. So, since childhood I hated any violence against women and children.
Life is sacred and so many don't realize this, especially the lives of little children.

I also have to add that the sheep that you have is better than many mothers today.
Sorry for the rant, but we have storms for the whole weekend and my mind is also stormy.

Have some !PIZZA and take care.

That is a sad reality @papilloncharity. I battle to get my mind around how a mother would ever be abusive or neglectful. Hats off to you for compassion and tireless work for the downtrodden. A challenging childhood usually directs us to be advocates for those who cannot speak for themselves. May the storm pass

Yes it is indeed a sad truth, but such is life here.
We only try to make things better my friend and thankfully we have some successes from time to time.
My belief is that one cannot preach it if one doesn't have personal experience about it, so I see my own tough upbringing as growth to prepare me for what I am doing today.

If I had a chance to have to do it all again, I wouldn't want to change anything, except maybe to have a father.

Blessings to you guys.

Hurting women and children belongs to the worst things people can do. That's an absolutely no go. I don't want to know what I would do if someone would hurt anyone my family.

Photos, especially the ones of the birds are as always beautiful, Zac 😀

We sadly hold the record count for violence against women and children Hannes.
So all of the people at that breakfast today are real heroes in my eyes.

Some unbelievable stories were told there today, that will make your hair stand up.
Such is life my friend.

Cheers and thanks.

Everybody who tries to stop violence is a hero in my eyes, no matter if it's violence against people, animals or nature.
Believe me, I don't want to hear these stories, although I love movies showing violence, but I know that's only fake.

We think alike my friend and I also like action movies, but haven't seen any in a very long time.

Cheers and thanks.

I don't watch much tv either since quite a while - I prefer YouTube to learn photography and other things like "why cats like to sleep in small boxes" - our cats try to get into every box they see 😃

Hahaha, You must tell me when you find the reason for your cats getting into boxes. To me it sounds strange and there are some cat people on Hive that might know the reason.
I don't watch YouTube and only read the news articles that are of interest to me.

Cheers and thanks.

All cats are like that - show them a shopping bag and they will hop inside, same with boxes - they love it 😁

Yes, I know, but ou rcats also love to watch videos about birds and other animals 🤣

I must admit that I don't have much experience with cats. Only once long ago when a cat gave birth on my lap 🤣
But yes I have friends with cats and they look very loving.

Oh yes, you told me that you put movies on for you and the cats. It must be hilarious to watch you guys 🤣
In my minds eye I see a police officer draped on a couch, or a bed, fast asleep with two cats sitting wide eyed on his chest watching the TV. Comic book stuff 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Well, you saw wrong, because I'm completely asleep while the cats are watching and even trying to catch the little animals on the screen, but I'm sleeping 🤣

I see wrong very seldom my friend. Ready the last two words above. Fast asleep means that you are sleeping, but I agree with your reply as I had the cats sitting wide eyed on your chest, but the vision is even better if the cats are seen to be struggling to catch all of the little animals on the screen 🤣🤣🤣

Cheers and thanks.

🤣🤣🤣 I don't know if I have a !LOLZ left 🤣🤣🤣

They look so cute when they try to catch a bird on the screen or even when I use my computer mouse they follow in on the monitor 😁
