WE100: My Impressions Thus Far
What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined - to strengthen each other - to be at one with each other in silent unspeakable memories. - George Elliot
One of the first things I did when I ended my far-too-long hiatus from the blockchain was go in search of people I had connected with in a meaningful way before taking a break. Of course, one of my first stops was to try to catch up on @galenkp and see where he was in his life and this is how I discovered the #weekend-engagement initiative he started. On the surface I was excited at the opportunity to have unique and interesting prompts on a weekly basis to get the creative juices flowing, but what I did not anticipate was the level of connection that would develop from these prompts.
An additional aspect of the weekend engagement initiative is the vast spectrum of prompts that tend to pour out of Mr. Galen’s mind. They range anywhere from the mundane to the deeply philosophical and run the entire gamut in between. Some weekends I am able to relax my brain and share something that is light and humorous and there are those weeks that I must wrestle with the mighty demons of my past and hidden traumas in order to express how I feel about a particular prompt. For me, each of these ends of the spectrum is vital to emotional health and has been instrumental in developing some extremely interesting connections with people I may never have connected with previously. He has built a bridge of words, emotions, and expressions for each of us to be able to cross the abyss of our differences in order to embrace our beautifully wondrous similarities.
What stated, initially, as a vehicle to get some ideas to generate a post has become an extremely cathartic and restorative process that allows me to practice a deeper level of self-awareness, and anyone who has read much of my work would understand that this is something that I place an extreme amount of value in. When you couple that with the ability to make a deeper connection with others and the possibility that your experiences might offer comfort, support, or stability for someone who may be going through similar circumstances, you begin to truly comprehend the power these engaging prompts have within the construct of the blockchain.
So in short…..I LOVE the #weekend-engagement initiative….lolol Thanks @galenkp for the time, effort, and humanity that you have placed into this community and I, for one, have benefited greatly. Remember that I love you all and not one of you is alone.

Papacrusher what a lovely, heartfelt post on your experience of the Weekend Engagement Blog Prompts, I share your feelings on this and especially the catharsis aspect - definitely one of the most valuable parts.
For me personally there have been weekends where I haven't written or submitted a post, but the prompt has taken me deep within my mind, heart and soul to do some much needed thinking/feeling/being that was obviously lacking before hand. It's awesome that you have been able to articulate that here as well.
Thanks for your valuable contributions, I've always enjoyed your posts and I hope you will continue to send them in.
Have a great day
Andy
Exactly!!! I think that is the true test of the lasting impact this initiative has achieved. Thank you for the kind words and I've really enjoyed connecting with you through the weekend community!
This is beautiful friend. I agree with you, the weekend community is a beautiful place to be. It helps one to be fast thinking and engaging also.
Thank you for sharing this amazing piece with us 💕.

You're welcome, it's my pleasure 🥰🥰.
I really love the tone of your words and can tell you genuinely respect and value the organiser of this community and blog prompt initiative. He obviously works at it and it is lovely to see someone acknowledge that as you have done. You're a nice and genuine person.

Yeah, I guess he's ok for an Aussie...lololol Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my post!
Those Australians have a certain appeal, do they not? Maybe it comes from living upside down all the time. 🙃
I'm sorry that I don't get a lot of time to be more active here, I have to be strategic, and often fast, to get things done and that means my posts are sporadic and my commenting nowhere near as good as I would like.
