Hi bloggers and food lovers. How are you all doing? Today's colorful recipe is my entry for Qurator's Hive Top Chef! this weekby @qurator. This colorful menu is one of Indonesia's traditional sweet and crispy snacks, but this time I made a chewier version using glutinous rice flour, these cookies are called Keciput. Okay, let's get started.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4* tsp lime stone powder
  • 35 ml water
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 300 grams glutinous rice flour
  • food coloring
  • 200 grams sesame seeds
  • cooking oil

Steps:

  • Crack the eggs into a bowl

  • Add sugar, butter, and vanilla essence

  • Transfer to a larger bowl because the previous bowl is too small

  • Mix until the sugar dissolves and is well blended

  • Turn off the mixer, then add the glutinous rice flour

  • Stir until well combine

  • Dissolve the lime stone powder in water

  • Add it to the dough

  • Stir until the dough is well combined

  • Divide the dough into several portions depending on how many colors you want to add

  • Add food coloring. I used 4 colors: blue, pink, green, and purple

  • Roll the dough into balls

  • Dip into sesame seeds that have been moistened with a little water

  • Before frying, strain off any excess sesame seeds

  • Put them in heated oil

  • Fry over medium heat

  • Wait until they puff up and stir until cooked

  • Lift and drain

  • Colorful Keciput cookies are ready to serve

Sweet, colorful balls for a snack—great idea. When I saw them, I remembered the colorful cereals and popular coconut treats from my hometown. Yummy yummy, they look delicious. Good luck in the contest. Best regards.
