My first approach to a Wasp // Mi primer acercamiento a una Avispa

Hello Picture A Day friends! It is a pleasure to greet you again and to express my best wishes for your well being. Also, I hope you are getting ready to enjoy a well-deserved weekend and that you can do whatever activities you enjoy and have fun doing.

I want to share with you these images I took of an Amaranthus or Wheat Celery as it was being visited by a small wasp that was prowling around its tiny flowers wanting to take advantage of its delicious nectar. I was quite amused to watch it approach the Amaranth flower packet and thought it might get into a fight with what I initially thought were ants. As I looked at the pictures on the computer and got a higher magnification, I thought I noticed that they were baby wasps, even tinier than ants. This is my first approach to them and, hopefully, I will have the opportunity to learn more about them by looking more closely at their visits to the flowers in the garden.

For the moment, I enjoy the colorful image between the black of the wasp and the strong and soft pink tones of the Amaranth. Enjoy them my friends!

¡Hola amigos de Picture A Day! Es un gusto saludarles nuevamente y poder expresarles mis deseos por que se encuentren bien. Además, espero que se estén preparando desde ya para disfrutar de un merecido fin de semana y que puedan realizar las actividades que más disfruten y les proporcionen diversión.

Quiero compartir con Ustedes estas imágenes que tomé a un Amaranto o Celosía de Trigo mientras recibía la visita de una pequeña avispa que merodeaba sus diminutas flores queriendo aprovechar su delicioso néctar. Me divirtió bastante observarla acercase al paquete floral del Amaranto y creí que podría enfrascarse en una pelea con lo que, en principio creí, eran hormigas. Al mirar las fotografías en la computadora y lograr una mayor ampliación, me pareció notar que eran crías de avispas, aún más diminutas que las hormigas. Es mi primer acercamiento a ellas y, espero, poder tener la oportunidad de aprender más sobre ellas observando con mayor detenimiento sus visitas a las flores del jardín.

Por el momento, disfruto del colorido de la imagen entre el negro de la avispa y los tonos rosados fuertes y suaves del Amaranto. ¡Disfrútenlos amigos!
