5 ways to show children respect 💌

We charge children to have respect for their elders and often forget to respect them.

1. Respect when the child says no.

The path of patient listening is a way to educate with more awareness. Forcing the child to do something they don't want to do can cause more resistance in the dialogue.

2. Allow children to make choices.

Within what is best for each situation, offer choices to the child. In this way the child can develop autonomy and responsibility for making decisions.

3. Don't tell a lie to a child.

Always tell the truth and keep your word. Don't try to deceive the child, even with the best of intentions.

Ex: When the child asks for something, don't say you will do it if you don't mean to.

4. Be transparent and have clarity in communication.

Don't try to avoid frustration by lying. Be honest with the child and try to demonstrate to him the reason for such a decision. This will give the child an understanding of what is being communicated without filters.

5. Practicing active listening

By listening to what the child has to say, without judging or interrupting, it is in friendly listening that we are able to welcome the child's needs and convey a message of trust.

True.
But unfortunately, most parents don't practice these.
