"WHY IS IT SO HARD TO MEDITATE?"

Good evening dear #EcoTrain community!

Another week with a very good question, one of those that make us think to try to get the best out of us.

This week the QOTW asks us:

"WHY IS IT SO HARD TO MEDITATE?"

To begin to retrace a little on the question of the week I propose that we agree on what is meant by meditate.

I believe that times are coming in which humanity in general will have to turn towards the spiritual, towards what is truly essential in our lives and that for now the vast majority does not give too much importance to it.
Meditation is an exercise of self-control aimed at bringing the body and mind into a state of deep relaxation, eliminating any disturbing thought, feeling every movement of our breathing. In a few words, it would be as if we were observing ourselves from outside our body, achieving a great connection with our inner self.

Meditating has great benefits for our physical and mental health as it helps us to lower stress, obtaining great benefits in our mental health. It also helps to reduce anxiety and avoid the possibility of falling into a depressive state, helps us to improve the quality of our sleep and helps to control intestinal problems and certain ailments.

Now yes, once we have agreed on what meditation is I will try to get into the QOTW: "WHY IS IT SO HARD TO MEDITATE?"

Personally, I think that in the times we live in, in a world that spins with so much vertigo, it becomes very difficult to make time to make meditation a regular activity in our lives.

Many times we fill our days with routines and activities and we live in a very accelerated way, neglecting our mental and emotional health and above all we forget to connect with our inner self, to look inward.

I believe that this world in which we only dedicate ourselves to run forward, we miss to look to the side and enjoy this path we call life.

These years in which the pandemic has given great blows to most of us, I thought that in general humanity would turn towards a more spiritual spectrum, but unfortunately I think we have not learned anything.

Meditation is a great tool to be able to not only feel life in a different way, to feel our breath and every beat of our heart, but also to be able to start enjoying simple and beautiful things that surround us day by day and that many times go unnoticed in front of our noses.

A few years ago I started meditating in the evenings before going to rest since it is usually the only time of the day when I can dedicate a few minutes for myself, something that is very complicated during the day because with two little girls it is very difficult to achieve the degree of disconnection with the outside world and establish a connection with myself, with my inner self.

For this I usually listen to nature sounds, although Celtic music or music by the singer Enya are also very helpful when meditating. I don't have a defined place in the house, but I try to use a wide place in the house where I place a mat or a blanket on the floor. I usually do this activity with very loose clothing and the Himalayan salt lamps are always present.

Such is the disconnection I achieve with the environment and such is the connection I achieve with myself and the state of wellbeing, that the last minutes I end up dozing. In this process I achieve a state of relaxation and wellbeing that I really enjoy.

Thanks to meditation I was able to overcome a state of depression that had me submerged for the last two years and based on perseverance and hard work I was able to heal those internal wounds that hurt me in the depths of my soul. In order to overcome this, it was essential to achieve that inner connection that prevented me from enjoying the simple things in life.

Another environment where I usually meditate is when I find myself in a natural environment, trying to fill my lungs and my soul with that wonderful energy that can only be found in those magical places. The sea, rivers, lakes and all water sources are places with an extreme energetic power that motivate me to maintain that connection between my body, my mind and my soul.

In the times we live in, I feel it is essential that we all turn our lives around and begin to connect with the basics of life and learn to enjoy the little things, those that are going around us.

It is necessary that we begin to understand that we must leave aside the material world and begin to work our energy, our inner self and connect a little more with the world and I believe that meditation plays a very important role in this change that humanity is needing.

Well dear friends of #ecoTrain, so much for my presentation for the QOTW of the week!

I leave you a big hug!
