When I Need A Reason To Be Grateful, I Look At My Phone's Home Page

Hi friends! This is my entry for this week's @ladiesofhive contest. Its been on for days now and I'm inviting you all to join the contest especially @zohu

For this week we want to know:

1️⃣ Brush my teeth, drink of water, kiss the kids goodnight, fluff up my stuffy bear, pray, check the smartphone one last time. What are your night time rituals just before bedtime?

Or

2️⃣ Whose or what picture is on the home page of your phone? And why did you pick that?

What are my night time rituals

The above listed are things I must do in no particular order minus fluffing up stuffy animals because that is luxury of time I can't afford at the moment, maybe later, but not now. Lol.

I almost don't have a particular pattern my night time routine unfolds because its not just about me anymore, its about how the evening goes as a new mom still adjusting.

Some years before now I would say that the three things I do right before going to bed every day in this particular order is to groom, pray and press my phone till I doze off but these days, I actually begin 'working' when I groom myself for the night. As I settle in bed next to my sleeping baby, I type my hive blog post, plan my next Youtube video, do some research online till I'm exhausted and fall asleep.

This is what I do four out of seven days in a week. Whenever i cook a serious dinner, do thorough cleaning of the house and what have you, I just groom and go to sleep. My body would be so tired that even the thousand and one things I still need to do can't stop me from hibernating. This normally have for the rest three days of the week.

I planned my motherhood life such that I have one day off serious work when I can 'lounge' in the evening and the next day I'm doing serious work. Notice how there is are inverted commas on that lounge? That is because I never really actually lounge. My lounge time is what I use to create post, plan my YouTube videos, go through my mails and take care of some of my pending work online.

So yeah, there goes my nighttime ritual.

What picture is on my phone's home screen?

Some months back my siblings had asked that I send most recent pictures of me to them. I guess they wanted to know how fat I have become after child birth and I couldn't get them one. I had no single recent picture of myself on my phone.

Its just me! I don't remember to take pictures of my life events like most people to. Often times when I'm asked to send some pictures by my family and friends, I find myself scampering for pictures because I don't always remember to capture the moment in photos but on this day my husband wanted to take
some photos with our baby and I decided to "feature". I mean I joined without being invited or necessarily wanted in the photo.

What was to be one or two shuts became a photo session. We had fun taking those pictures that we thought we need to do it more often or even go to a photo studio for a family photo shoot.

I normally don't customize my phone's home screen but I found myself loving and admiring the pictures we had taken to the extent that I choose to use my favorite out of them as a screen saver.

Its been almost a month after we took those pictures but each time I pick my phone I take a moment to admire the picture. Though we were not dressed up for the photo, especially me, it's the most perfect picture in have seen in a long while.

Now whenever, if ever, I need a reason to be grateful I just go to my photo gallery to view those pictures over and over again. Doing this always bring me so much joy and love that I wear the most proud smile for the rest of the day.

As much as I would love to share those pictures here, I can't. Because my husband doesn't like having his photos on social media and I need to respect that.

Sounds like your week is nicely planned! I have a tendency to take photos of things rather than people, lol! I also never think about photographing family moments, so you are not alone! Thanks for sharing and have a lovely night!

Family photos on your phone keeps one grounded!

Good luck with the contest.

You received 5 LADY(LOH) for entering the Ladies of Hive contest.

Please note that since our LOH token is still so new, that it will be worth more if we HOLD them for a bit before trying to sell them. Some have been trying to sell them immediately after receiving them, but holding them for a bit will help them to increase in value! We are working behind-the-scenes to try to keep the price stable, but the "sell orders" are hampering the stabilization of the price of this new token. Please hold on to your tokens. Thank you! 🙂

¡Considere esperar! ¡Gracias! 🤗

No problem, I can respect that and can just vicariously experience myself with my precious sons and in what I do for them. They are young adults now, with a little advice they may decide on their own how they present themselves on social media.

Thank you @ozohu for your entry in this week's #LOH.
