My Night Time Routine As A Mom, Wife and Content Creator

Hello moms and dads of hive! What's your evening like as a parent and how do you prepare for bed?

I cook almost everyday, so my evening routine starts with me cooking. Cooking is not my favorite thing to do. As a matter of fact, I'm tired of cooking as of the moment. I particularly don't like racking my head on what to cook. I have tried drafting a food timetable severally but it didn't work. I found out that we don't ever have appetite for what's on the menu that day so most times I simply ask my husband what he would like to have for dinner and he always delivers. Sometimes his choices are rather tasking but other times I just like the fact that I can always ask him for suggestions. One other reason I don't enjoying cooking so much is that I begin to smell of spices, onions and all after cooking.

When done cooking, if my baby permits, I clean. She mostly gets impatient once I'm done cooking since she would always be strapped on my back during the whole cooking period. She always want to be with me so I tie her to my back African style and we cook together. Which always leaving her as sweaty as I'm too.

So, I attend to her next. Most times this involves bathing her, changing her cloth and diaper. Then finally breastfeeding her till she falls asleep.

I get back to cleaning as soon as am able to put her to sleep. I tidy the house to the best of my strength because by that time, am always very tired. As soon as I have done the cleaning, I head straight for the shower, then later brush my teeth. I put on something comfy, pick my phone as I get in bed.

One would think that it was time for me to sleep but no, its actually the beginning of the day for me. This was when I always have time to attend to my personal affairs like making research, checking my emails, making a blog post or editing my YouTube video.

Most nights I work from 9am to 2am. Any day I miss working from 9pm to 2am, I just find myself lagging behind. I'd have so much to attend to and a bunch of other things will just suffer. Hence I try my best, no matter how tired I am, to use the hours between 9-2am to get the most done.

I try not to stay up any moment after this time because I'll definitely feel the effect of it on my eyes and in my head. The both would be very heavy if I do. So as tempted as I am to work at throughout the night to the next morning, I just don't do it.IMG_20220108_224015_2.jpg

I need to be able to be there for my baby and morning sleep helps me gather the necessary strength for the next day.

Before evenings come, I have already make mental notes of what to sort and task to accomplish therefore I always look forward to my night time. This also help me get more job done.

Creativity is a very necessary spice to life. Since am unable to focus on my phone or lap during the day, I found a way around it and I'm coping so far. Days I don't feel up to it, I just rest. After all, I'm my own boss.

Thanks For Reading.
