Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! I’m back in the thick of it no, just kidding, back to drawing and I’ve decided to create a digital illustration of the Healer of Light. This time I wanted to go for a softer approach, as the last drawing I did of Holozing, which was also fan art, was a bit dark or scary.

Hola gente bonita! ¡Espero estén súper bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Vuelvo a la batalla, no mentira, volviendo al dibujo, decidí ilustrar en digital al sanador de la luz. Esta vez quise irme por un lado mas tierno, ya que el ultimo dibujo que hice de Holozing, que también fue un fan art, fue un tanto oscuro o aterrador.

I started by sketching out what the character would look like. I used a photograph of an Asian girl I found on Pinterest as a guide or reference. My aim with this drawing was to make it a bit cuter, as that’s something I personally find a bit difficult to achieve in my style, and I feel that with this drawing I’ve managed it – at least in my opinion.

Comienzo haciendo el boceto de lo que vendría siendo el personaje. Use como guía o referencia una fotografía de un chica asiático que encontré en Pinterest. Mi intensión con este dibujo era llevarlo o mejor dicho, hacerlo un poco mas tierno, ya que es algo que en lo personal me cuesta un poco lograr en mi estilo y siento que con este dibujo lo logre, según yo.

After spending quite a while sketching, I finally had it ready to start painting. What I do is apply a base colour across the whole drawing, which is always the skin tone. Then I carry on adding the other base colours for each element of the drawing.

Después de estar haciendo el boceto un buen rato, por fin lo tuve listo para comenzar a pintarlo. Lo que hago es agregar un color base en todo el dibujo, que siempre es el color de la piel. Luego sigo agregando los demás colores base para cada elemento del dibujo.

Next, I start working on the face in detail, adding blush, shadows and so on. I always do this; the face is my favourite part of painting a character – it’s just so satisfying to gradually bring the face to life. After that, I move on to the hair and then the clothes; I take my time with all of this so I can really enjoy the process.

Seguidamente comienzo a detallar la cara, agregando rojeces, sombras y demás. Siempre lo sigo, la cara es mi parte favorita de pintar un personaje, es que es tan satisfactorio el ir dando vida poco a poco en el rostro. Después sigo con el cabello y luego la ropa, todo este lo hago lentamente, para así disfrutar de mi proceso.

The last thing I do is add the finishing touches to the clothes and add the final details, which are always the sparkles throughout the drawing; I feel they add such a lovely finishing touch and, surprisingly for me, I didn’t add any blood or black tears to this drawing, so that the composition would have a tender feel to it. And that’s it, friends, that’s all there is to it.

Lo ultimo que hago es detallar la ropa y agregar los últimos detalles, que siempre son los brillos en todo el dibujo y siento que le da un toque final tan bonito y sorpresa para mi, no agregue sangre o lagrimas negras en este dibujo, para que tuviese ese toco tierno en la composición. Y listo amigos, eso seria todo.
