What a special adventure it was that I experienced inside this fascinating museum, it was so much information that it was better to divide it into two posts! Today we are going to learn much more about the wonderful aquatic world, we will learn about the characteristics of some tropical and salt freshwater fish! Museums like this are a vital source for the general culture of a city, whenever we visit an aquarium we leave there with an apprenticeship!๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

LIFE IN THE WATER๐Ÿ’ฅ/ VIDA EN EL AGUA๐Ÿก๐Ÿ ๐ŸŸ

img_2108.jpg

This is my friend, life originated in water! what we know today as a lion, a primate all originated in water! life began as very simple organisms, chemical compounds that were taking evolutionary leaps for thousands of years! These compounds gave rise to simpler organisms such as sea sponges and starfish! In a period of time of 500 years, the famous chordate organisms with a more complex system appeared, they had a "backbone" that could form more complex organs! until the fish appeared and there life in the water became very complex!
๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿง

Just look through small mirrors to realize how marine animals have a unique beauty in the animal kingdom! Inside the museum there is educational information everywhere! the goal is for you to learn new things, I had no idea that dolphins brush their mouths with sea sponges so as not to hurt themselves when looking for food on the seabed, it was a very interesting fact that is not commented on about these fantastic animals!๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ

Sea sponges are very famous because since Roman times they were already given different uses, the most famous being the use as a bath sponge! and it is that marine sponges absorb water through the thousands of holes that their structure has, this is done to feed! There are many species of sponge that live in different areas of the seabed, from shallow waters to abyssal areas!
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ

The Cnidarian phylum is incredible in which sea sponges, gorgonians, corals, jellyfish among others are organized! For example, gorgonians grow only 1cm per year, jellyfish for example have a sack-shaped body with a single mouth that also serves as an anus, they are incredible animals and sneaky hunters!๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

As you can see in this museum there is an exhibition of different types of aquatic systems, each space presents a different substrate and plants, including live rocks! This is interesting because the depth of the sea makes each ecosystem different, and although they share the same water space, they do not share the same depth characteristics!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

While I do this tour I am learning more and more, within the museum the marine ecosystems of various regions of Portugal are used as an example, such as the Algarve, Sierra de la Arrabida! and in each space they show us different types of animals! This is because the temperatures in the ocean at these points have different scales!๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿ”ญ๐Ÿงซ

For the clownfish there is an excellent opportunity with the anemone since over the years it adapts immunity to the venom of the tentacles and uses the anemone as a refuge to protect itself from predators and the anemone sees an opportunity with the fish since it performs cleaning ! This relationship is called SYMBIOSIS, an advantageous interaction between two species!๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

An estuary is a body of water that has been mixed with fresh water, so let's imagine a river that flows into the sea, there is a point where the water stagnates and there is a mixture of sea salinity with the fresh water of the river that originates in the mountains thaw! These ecosystems are not totally salty or sweet, but they are home to truly amazing species!๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ฎ

And what should scare you the most is that the coastal seabed is so sensitive that if the temperature rises 1 degree, it brings catastrophic consequences because corals and all cnidarians are sensitive to water temperature! and when they disappear there is no turning back and nothing we can do to bring them back, this is called irreversible damage!๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿ˜จ

Surely you have ever seen barnacles, they are sessile animals that live embedded in rocks, this strategy is interesting because in the place where it is customary to position is the one where the waves beat hard on the rock, in that constant swell they take advantage to feed since they are filter feeders!๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ
