enmudecido por los años
su alfombra de hojas
se la llevo el viento.

Las aves solo beben agua
en la orilla cercana de su amigo el rio
y un venado temeroso
mira a todos lados, para beber también, siempre con prisa.

Las nubes siguen con sus formas cambiantes
la llanura y su silencio
son su entorno apacible
mientras los niños buscan otras frondosas ramas
para jugar al escondite.

El árbol seco parece una postal
o más bien un retrato sin museo ni contrato
el sol es su compañero matutino
y la luna su amiga atemporal.

Ay de aquellos fotógrafos ciegos
que olvidaron el romance en la llanura
que olvidaron recuerdos y legados
buscando siempre la primicia de una estrella de cartón.

a merced de los vientos tormentosos
y sin hojas que cubran su soledad.

que olvidaron sus mejores días
que ignoraron vivencias llenas de nostalgia
y sus lentes solo vieron imágenes brillantes.

A dry tree
muted by the years
its carpet of leaves
carried away by the wind.

The birds only drink water
on the nearby bank of their friend the river
and a fearful deer
looks everywhere, to drink too, always in a hurry.

The clouds continue with their changing shapes
the plain and their silence
are their peaceful surroundings
while the children look for other leafy branches
to play hide and seek.

The dry tree looks like a postcard
or rather a portrait without museum or contract
the sun is its morning companion
and the moon its timeless friend.
