Hiking to Los Mamonales Waterfall

Hiking is the most basic activity for hikers and tourists who visit natural areas. It offers the possibility of walking through nature in its purest state and for the most experienced hikers, it can turn into days of several days or weeks.

Venezuela is a country with an immense natural territory full of wonders to explore. In every corner there is some hidden oasis waiting to be discovered by nature lovers.

Hidden in the jungle region of the Sierra de Imataca, about 5 km from the rural sector "Los Mamonales", is a waterfall known as "Salto Los Mamonales", formed by one of the tributaries of the Yocoima River, which descends from the highest part of the jungle.

To reach this beautiful place, you must take the highway that connects Ciudad Guayana and Upata, in the State of Bolivar, Venezuela. Then you must cross the detour that leads to the hamlet "Los Mamonales", at the end of this hamlet you will find a path that crosses several farms until you reach the jungle where you will find several streams and small waterfalls until you reach this impressive waterfall.

You can reach the top of this waterfall through a trail that leads to the top of this hill. Once at the top we can follow the river upstream and find other smaller waterfalls and natural jacuzzis.

This is a must for hikers in the region. Here you can have the opportunity to have direct contact with nature and jungle fauna, observe tropical birds in the wild and other fantastic animals that are usually difficult to photograph.
