For All the Saints | Organ Improvisation | Hauptwerk Martinikerk Groningen

The other day I opened a hymnal and improvised on a hymn tune For All the Saints (Sine Nomine). This piece is a hybrid between a chaconne and chorale prelude. The chaconne theme is based on the first phrase of the hymn and I present it in several related keys throughout the improvisation. This theme also serves as a ritornello between hymn phrases.
