This past weekend I hosted the second installment of my monthly crypto webinar - CryptoNite

The Purpose

My goal with these webinars is to provide valuable information to those that are serious about breaking into this new digital monetary system we call crypto. I often think about all the lumps and bruises I took learning the space between 2017 and now and I remember how different things could have been if I had someone to personally show me the ropes.

This has been my motivation to be more consistent with sharing my blockchain knowledge, especially to those new to the space.

In these webinars I try to focus my energy on expressing the importance of Bitcoin as the foundation of any crypto portfolio and what makes it different from all other crypto technologies, projects, blockchains, etc. The rest of the time I spend helping individuals find blockchains and tokens that relate to them and their interest so they can actually utilize and learn the technology.

Even though Bitcoin is king, its very important people have other options to get acclimated to the crypto space because lets face it...Bitcoin is boring sometimes, even to those of us that know how amazing it is. Imagine how boring it is to a newb who doesn't understand why its so great.

Too often we see newbies lured into this wild wild west environment based on promises of quick flips and easy returns from fake gurus and all-out scammers. Enough of my rant...lets review the content.

This 1st slide below I touched on some current events but it was more about being able to differentiate between Bitcoin, Ethereum, and blockchain tech from a fundamental aspect.

One of the common mistakes we see when it comes to blockchain comprehension is people thinking these concepts are synonymous.

Something I find myself saying verbally to help get my point across is "Bitcoin is sound money (like gold), Ethereum is programmable value (I wouldn't call it money yet), and blockchain is the technology that allows them both to function accurately and efficiently."

Market Trends

In a market that moves as fast as crypto, staying up-to-date has to be priority. I always make sure I touch on both macro and micro trends. One needs to be able to zoom all the way in, or step back and get a bird's eye view...whatever the situation calls for.

I finished up the webinar spending time explaining the importance and capabilities of Web 3.0, and some notable projects all crypto enthusiasts should be aware of (imo). Of course HIVE is on that list.

Since I came to the realization that HIVE encompasses everything most of us love about Web3 (DeFi, account/content ownership, play-to-earn gaming, p2p interaction, open source development) I've taken the time to refresh my HIVE knowledge, create more content, and bring more people on board!

I'm actually hosting a HIVE webinar this coming Saturday to get my Discord group, friends, and family introduced to HIVE.

Please, feel free to suggest any start-up resources below that I could share to help some new minnows hit the ground running!
