Microsoft has now joined the growing list of companies that, for very logical reasons, have put limits on cryptocurrency mining activities.
One would initially question if Microsoft is opposed to cryptocurrency.

But in my perspective, the company is merely attempting to provide the ideal cloud services possible, which accounts for the newer, harsher restrictions. Also, if you must use Microsoft services for crypto mining, you may only do so with Microsoft's prior written consent.

In an effort to stabilize its cloud services, Microsoft’s updated terms are restricting access to Bitcoin and crypto mining.
Per Microsoft’s Summary of Changes page, the software giant updated its Universal License Terms for Online Services on December 1 to “clarify that mining cryptocurrency is prohibited without prior Microsoft approval.”

Specifically, under the terms Acceptable Use Policy, Microsoft states that “Neither Customer nor those that access an Online Service through Customer, may use an Online Service: to mine cryptocurrency without Microsoft’s prior written approval

This entire piece is based on a report issued by the organization on Wednesday under the heading “Important actions partners need to take to secure the partner ecosystem,”.

There have been a good number of publications implying that crypto mining can ultimately affect online services. Additionally, it is no news that a good number of its users are regularly affiliated with cyber fraud.

Clearly, the intention of the organization is to protect all customers and deal with the problem of disrupted Microsoft Cloud services.

Besides Microsoft, Google Cloud, Mozilla, OVH, and Oracle have also restricted their users from using their servers to mine cryptocurrency without prior written consent from them.

As a result of the ongoing separation of private firms from cryptocurrency mining operations, the past several months have been extremely challenging for miners.
