THANKSGIVING SERVICE OF 23RD OF JANUARY 2022.

Thanks be to God for granting me the privilege to listen to today's thanksgiving service. In today's teaching, I understood that for me to win the heavenly race to the end,I have to run and be certain of what I want.in 1 Corinthians 9:24. I learnt that many will run but only one will receive the prize. Therefore, I have to run to be that one who will obtain the prize. We were taught to fight with a mindset that we will win. I have to be certain of what I want in order to win. I have to focus on my goal not on the difficulties or hindrances. In order to remain in the race, I have to follow the instructions of 1 Peter 5:8. It says, We should be at alert, we should be sober because the enemy who is the devil is roaring like a lion, looking for who to devour. This is where discipline comes in. Obtaining the incorruptible crown, we need to discipline ourselves. We should always be careful with the things that we do, so that the enemies won't take advantage of us. 1 Corinthians 9:26, we should so run. Running as if we are the only one. Running to win. For us to stay in the race, we must strive not to be disqualified. Ezekiel 18:24 , when a righteous man turns evil, such man will not be remembered. But in that evil will he die. This means that when you are disqualified, all your efforts won't be remembered. So let's strive hard to remain in the race.
Book of proverbs 23:23 made me to understand that I should buy the truth and not sell it. The truth here is to listen to the word of God. The bible has admonished us to listen to the word of God. The truth is the word of God and only the truth can set us free. We were taught to hide the word of God in our hearts. Luke 8:15. The word that will stay are those planted on a good ground. That is, good and honest hearts because they heard the word, and kept it in their heart. Those will bring forth fruit.
In conclusion, let's keep acquiring the word by listening to the word of God so as to bear fruit of sanctification. With this, we will also be proud to say that we have fight the good fight of faith.
