CubDefi - My New Savings Account?

I started the blockchain about 3.5 years ago. It wasn't until last year though with the change over to Hive that I really started to understand a little about the possibilities of cryptocurrency. I bought my first small amount of BTC and started reading and posting more in Leo Finance and began to see how life changing crypto might become. To that point it had been just a place to post pictures/stories and earn a small amount of coin that I really had no idea how to access even if I did need it. :)

When CubDefi was launched I was a bit more knowledgeable about crypto but still pretty green, especially about defi. Being retired and on a fairly fixed income there wasn't a lot of spare fiat around to be investing in things I didn't have a great understanding of. Cub came along at the perfect time. I had built up some LEO and there was an airdrop of CUB coming to me with the startup and it was all taking place within the Hive ecosystem. Honestly, this was probably the only way I would have got involved with a defi project.

Now I've built myself up to just under 2000 CUB. I've spent $5, $3 $1 and .50 cents a CUB to help get there. Weekly I earn about 50 CUB from farms and kingdoms. That's about $25 a week even at these current low prices. Definitely more than any interest I could earn from a bank/credit union. Not a bad bit of passive income as things stand right now, but think if CUB goes to $3-$10. Suddenly I would be seeing weekly gains in the hundreds of dollars. A nice bit of income for someone in my position who also is not a huge financial risk taker.

There is obviously more to CubDefi than just being an interest bearing savings account. There is still a lot of innovation on the horizon. I have great confidence in CubDefi as a stable and enduring platform and will definitely try out some of the future products that will be offered, but I also like the fact that if I just want to sit back and let compounding work I can do that also. For the time being though I will watch as my CUB earnings from the farms and kingdoms continue to grow and will probably add in a little fiat and Hive as finances allow. :)
