Here we are after such a long journey
Most of the times not for the right reasons
And sometimes, we can say we have it good
As citizens, w are strong, happy and loyal
We have been through a lot and yet we stand
We always adapt despite the terrible situations we find ourselves
It has been a blessing and a curse I must say
We are resilient and that's the blessing of it
A curse in turn because it makes us accept just about anything
How long does it take before we break as citizens?
Are we sure our hearts can take another years of torture?
Things keep getting worse and our politicians are not bothered
They profit from this decadence hence why they want things to remain the same
To them everything is about money and a game
Even at the expense of human lives - they defame
They are dressed in their flowing attire without a shame
To them, every problem can be solved by throwing money in the air
While gullible citizens runs to gather it in pairs
A system designed to uphold justice for all, they break it
The citizens they were meant to serve they abuse them
Mentors they were meant to show the way, they oppress them
The country we are all meant to build, we tear it
This country has become their feasting ground
It's not surprising why our debt threshold abounds
Despite boasting some of the best resources in the world
Here we are and we don't even know where to go from here.
