Growing up in Africa and under very strict parents gave some statements a different meaning entirely. For some African kids it was their mom that's strict and for some just their dad, in my case both parents were strict and permit me to say they terrorized my childhood and almost hindered me from enjoying my childhood.

While growing up and you hear any of these statements or they are said to you just know that your death warrant has been signed 😂 because you will see hell.

You probably visited a friend and stayed out for long, on arriving the house your mom or any of your siblings whispers in your ear "your dad is back" just know that it is finished, make up your mind cause you going to get whipped for sure. "Your dad is back" does not just mean he is back it also means you are finished 😂.

Your dad has been looking for you.

This is the worst of all 😂, "your dad has been looking for since" just know there is no turning back and in cases like this I am already looking for neighbors that will help me plead with him to pardon me.

You dare not stay out for long cause your dad has been looking for you since means a lot, maybe he wanted you to run errands for him but you were no where to be found and you automatically became a defaulter 😂.

You normally hear this once you commit and then fortunately for you Dad is not home at the moment but you are assured that he will still hear the mess you made, the statement " I will tell your dad" means you are safe for the meantime until dad comes back and once dad is back you are to face the panel of judges 😂.

I don't know if other kids faced this while growing up but waiting until you asked to leave the living room when a visitor steps in attracts scolding and punishment. In most cases my mom won't even say a word, she will just stare at you and you will know what to do.
