A fun-filled Christmas: a Christmas celebration with remembering

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. I had so many good Christmas celebrations while growing up, and I find it very difficult to pick one out of all, but all the same, last year's Christmas celebration was one of my best though I don't enjoy the celebration anymore. When my parents said they would be spending the holiday in the village, I was mad at them. Of all places, why the village? I have never been to the village during the festive season, so I don't know what it's like during the holiday season. Other times I have visited, it's always dry and boring.

I thought it was going to be like that again, but I was shocked to my bone marrow. I arrived in the village on the 23rd of December; my family had already arrived two days earlier and had put things in place already, with all preparations done. I did not do much work, but I ate like I did all the work. Before I came back, my mom prepared goat pepper soup, and I ate like it was my last, but I had a running stomach at the end of the day. This alone made Christmas a memorable one.

Christmas is one big celebration we all look forward to. Everyone enjoys that season of the year, if not for anything but for the fact that they get to be off work for a week or more in some cases. Some jobs only let their workers rest during this season; even students in school pray for every month to have a Christmas day in it just so we can take a break from all the stress that comes with being students.

The Christmas celebration got interesting when my cousins started coming back. I saw cousins I never knew existed. Even people I had as friends on Facebook but never knew we were related were introduced to me as relatives, and all I could do was laugh. We had a full house. The joy of having a full house is that it's easy to get chores done and arrange the house, but to scatter the house was much easier. You might feel you have arranged the house only for you to come and see someone else has scattered what you arranged with no one confessing they were the one.

A very big pot was used to cook, but once the food is dropped from the fire, it finishes instantly, with no remainder at all. We walked around the village in groups and as one very big family, fighting for each other. My younger brother went to the stream to fetch water and was insulted by an unknown guy. He came back and told us the way we all rushed down to the stream to scare the guy, which still makes me laugh each time I remember that.

While growing, I enjoyed Christmas more because I had nothing to worry about since all that concerns me is being taken care of by my parents, the new clothes and shoes, but now I am a grownup and everything has changed.

Thanks for reading my post.
