The Maccabees 1,2 still exist in the Catholic and Syriac (Aramaic) Bibles.

Happy Hanukkah… Chag Sameach.

2 Maccabees : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2_Maccabees

This is the most ancient song sung after the Hanukkah candles are lit … (lyrics below) @hebrew

To commemorate the re Dedication of the Holy Temple (Mishkan) in Jerusalem next to the Holy mount Zion.

Ma'oz tsur yeshu'ati ….. יֵשׁוּעַ / ישועה
lecha na'eh leshabeakh.
Tikon beit tefilati
vesham todah nezaveakh.
Le'et tachin matbeakh
mitsar hamnabeakh,
'az 'egmor beshir mizmor
khanukat hamizbeakh.
'az 'egmor beshir mizmor
khanukat hamizbeakh.

Fortress of my salvation (יֵשׁוּעַ / ישועה )
whom I shall praise
build my house of prayer
and there we will give sacrifice of thanks
and while you will fight my oppressors
I shall complete with a song
the consecration of the altar

As Rabbi Jesus (ישו הנוצרי / Yeshu ha Notzri) would say to his Jewish family, neighbors, friends, students every 25th Kislev (December)

Chag Sameach ! Happy Hanukkah

חַג חֲנוּכָּה שַׂמֵחַ
