"TROPICAL SHOW" Un grupo de venezolanos haciendo vida musical en las calles de Colombia 🇨🇴
Hello hello, how are you my dear Hive friends? My greatest wishes for stability and well-being for all; today I want to remember a little about what my stay in the brother country of Colombia was like, and it was at the beginning of 2018 when, due to life issues and the country situation that my beautiful Venezuela is still going through, I decided to go out and try my luck, just as many Venezuelan brothers have done.
Yo me fui con mi cuatro, el único amigo que llevaba conmigo junto a una maleta de sueños e inquietudes que rondaban mi cabeza. Pense en trabajar en cualquier cosa porque la necesidad obligaba, pero fue mi talento musical lo que me abrió las puertas de muchas oportunidades.
I left with my four, the only friend I had with me along with a suitcase of dreams and concerns that were floating around in my head. I thought about working on anything because necessity forced it, but it was my musical talent that opened the doors of many opportunities for me.
Nos juntamos un grupo de personas, que por casualidades del destino también andaban en lo mismo que yo; pero gracias a Dios logramos formar una agrupación que en Colombia denominan "PAPAYERA" con este grupo conformado por 6 personas; un trombonista, un trompetista, un redoblante, un bombo, una paila de tambor costeño y una güira comenzamos a caminar las calles de los barrios y urbanizaciones de la ciudad de Cúcuta, contando gracias a Dios; con la receptividad y el apoyo de todo el que nos escuchaba y que cariñosamente nos daban una moneda, un pan, un refresco o gaseosa o algo para comer, hasta ropa usada, y en el mejor de los casos hasta un contrato.
A group of people got together, who by chance of fate were also into the same thing as me; but thank God we managed to form a group that in Colombia they call "PAPAYERA" with this group made up of 6 people; A trombonist, a trumpet player, a snare drum player, a bass drum, a coastal drum kit and a güira began to walk the streets of the neighborhoods and urbanizations of the city of Cúcuta, counting thanks to God; with the receptivity and support of everyone who listened to us and who lovingly gave us a coin, a piece of bread, a soft drink or something to eat, even used clothes, and in the best of cases even a contract.Seis Venezolanos 🇻🇪 recorriendo las calles de Cucuta / Colombia 🇨🇴 llevando alegría a través de la música
Con el grupo fuimos obteniendo fama, ya que nuestro estilo se basaba en música tropical, (Billos, Melódicos, Corraleros, algunas carrangas) y la gente comenzó a contratarnos para amenizar sus fiestas.
With the group we gained fame, since our style was based on tropical music, (Billos, Melodicos, Corraleros, some carrangas) and people began to hire us to liven up their parties.
Esto nos permitió salir adelante y poder sobrevivir y hasta ahorrar para hacer remesas cada cierto tiempo a nuestras familias en Venezuela.
This allowed us to get ahead and be able to survive and even save to make remittances from time to time to our families in Venezuela.
Aquí les dejo una pequeña muestra de lo que la papayera "TROPICAL SHOW" (nombre con el que bautizamos nuestro grupo); hacíamos en las calles siendo migrantes venezolanos.
Here I leave you a small sample of what the papayera "TROPICAL SHOW" (name with which we baptized our group); we did in the streets as Venezuelan migrants.
Nuestro progreso fue avanzando cada dia y con ello fuimos haciendo algunos contactos con otros musicos, tambien venezolanos, pero que estaban trabajando solos, con música bailable, cantando con pistas en los semáforos hasta que formamos una gran agrupacion, una orquesta capaz de tocar diferentes generos musicales y acompañar a cualquier cantante de salsa, merengue o musica tropical, pero eso es parte de otra historia...
Our progress was advancing every day and with this we were making some contacts with other musicians, also Venezuelan, but who were working alone, with dance music, singing with tracks at traffic lights until we formed a great group, an orchestra capable of playing different genres. musicals and accompany any salsa, merengue or tropical music singer, but that is part of another story...
